I made this challenge with the goal to have a well proven WR in Rainbow Road: spread the word and tell about it to everyone you think is a talented player.

Track: Rainbow Road
Goal: Finish the race (3 laps) in less than 34''63, using any character or driving path.
Prize: 100 Euros
Deadline: End of 2008 (GMT)
Hardware requirements:
You need two things:
1. Any official Nintendo video game console capable of playing a GBA game cartridge: Nintendo GBA, Nintendo GBA SP, Nintendo GB Micro, Nintendo DS, Nintendo DS Lite, Nintendo GameBoy Player (connected to a Nintendo Gamecube).
2. An official Nintendo cartridge of "Mario Kart Super Circuit" (EU or USA version) or "Mario Kart Advance" (JP version).
Note: You may not use any kind of emulator or unofficial (not made by Nintendo) platform, but you may use an emulator for experimenting or training if you like.
Proof requirements:
The cash prize might encourage some people to try to cheat, so the proof requirements are stricter than usual:
• Film everything in TV Definition (PAL/NTSC/Secam cameras) or better (HD cameras). Low definition 320x256 webcams are not allowed.
• The video must include synchronous audio.
• The resulting video must be bright and smooth enough for the viewer to see the race time throughout the entire run.
• Before filming the replay, film the handheld from all sides to show that no device is connected.
• Then film a handwritten paper with your name or nickname, to prevent other people from claiming your video as their own.
• Then film the end screen of the race, where the time is flashing.
• Then choose the “View Replay” option, and film the replay of the entire run.
• Wait for the game to display the lap times, and then you may stop filming.
If you use an analog camera, you must acquire your video with a digital capturing device. If you do so, you must use a common encoder (DivX, Xvid, H264, Mpg), maintain a quality close to the original source (resolution, fps), and use a bitrate of at least 3000 KBit/s.
The resulting video must be bright and smooth enough for the viewer to read the race time throughout the entire run.
In order to avoid someone hacking the cartridge memory, you must be able to demonstrate your skills in a live video, where we can see your hands moving on the GBA while you are playing Rainbow Road.
• In the live video, you must race against the ghost of the record that you filmed previously.
• For at least one lap, you must get a time no more than 0''10 slower than the ghost.
• The live video must be bright and smooth enough for the viewer to see that your hand movements are synchronized with the kart movements.
The two video files must be sent before the deadline.
Validation and prize:
Videos will be validated or invalidated in the order of arrival (reply to this topic with the video link for reference).
The reward is only for the first validated time faster than 34''63.
The prize is 100 Euro. Today this is worth 147 Dollars, but if the conversion rate changes, the prize will still be 100 Euro.
The prize will be delivered to your PayPal account after the validation.

I think that the best characters for this challenge are Toad, Luigi and
Peach, but feel free to experiment with others.
If you are not familiar with the game, you just need to know a few things, because the strategy does not requires a great knowledge of the game's techniques:
• Use the rocket start (start pressing the gas about halfway between the second and third lights, or slightly later)
• Land on the bumpers on the edge of the roads to prolong the turbo effect of the mushrooms.
• Release the gas while in the air to have better control of the kart.
• While in the air, you can press the sliding button (R) while turning in order to face the right direction, and still land far enough to reach the road.
