But I couldn't get it to just play directly in the window...the link you press opens up a small window that plays the vid, but for some reason it stopped working...maybe there's another way to do it, but I can't find...I tried for like 30 minutes that time haha

I suppose if Mark or Alex (or whoever else is in charge) were to change the BB code then there could be a button like the ones up at the top but it did [youtube].....[/youtube] , that would probably be something you'd need to ask one of them...but it's probably some security risk because I know like java or something is not allowed because of that....the current embed flash thing seems to work okay, but you just don't have it on screen ....dunno

Hemm...seems like most times I see youtube embedded is on blogs and such...some browsers don't seem to load it too well, and sometimes it's a bit annoying...I think the way it has that little link is pretty good...

That's basically the same thing as embedding the flash, but I suppose it's still a security risk to the MB...also, WHO GIVES A CRAP!!! Just click the link that a person has, and you go to the video...why would you want to have REALLY REALLY slow loading pages with plagues of YouTube videos all loading....

Yeah, do you want to have to sit through loading EVERY page with pictures of youtube videos??

You can load a whole page of links much faster

It’s been a few months since Youtube has updated their video format to widescreen and I think our embed function should adapt accordingly. The way we have it now, videos that are widescreen on youtube get shrunk to a smaller size the same way old 4:3 TV's display widescreen DVD's.

___ for example, the video bellow would normally finish about here| and should fill the video from top to bottom.



Also a question I was pondering: what if the video has an HQ or HD function? Does it display the ugly version automatically? Is there a way the poster/reader could choose somehow?

Like so?  Just use the width parameter to make it a bit larger.  YaBB is automatically keeping the ratio of the media 4:3, no matter what you do, so the only size parameter is width.

No? I did it right there....and so did Benoit....you could use [flash] also.  Don't know what else anyone would do.

Dont do that , most computers cant handle it , or have to wait 5+ minutes to buffer.

MVT > Don't say shit, HQ is loaded quickly, and HD just needs some seconds of buffering.

HQ and HD do NOT load fast for me RRD.  I don't know what T1 line you are connected to but for most of us here, it takes quite a long time.
