I'll leave it there.
Yeah, those big gaps can be discouraging. This is why I'm not really motivated to work on times that might be improvable, such as VL2 PAL 5lap, where I'd need a 53"xx (basically a full second improvement) to make any serious chart gain, on a track where I fought hard to make it into the 54"xx. (I never grokked the island jump on PAL, nor is my last name Hasso) While I wouldn't say such a cut is completely beyond my capability, to expect to go down by that much (on a Non-NBT track) would really be pushing it.
Nice work on CI1 regardless.
...So GAS, can we expect to see you in Monroe this summer?
P.S. I've heard it said somewhere that "PAL is good training for NTSC", I might work a little more on PAL myself this spring, maybe you should try it again yourself. I couldn't agree more with this saying, because I often do some of my best NTSC time-trialing after I've wrestled with PAL for a bit. I've also heard of NTSC being called "easy mode", and it feels that way for me too, especially as a "native" NTSC player, indeed last year I broke several of my NTSC PRs after laboring on the same tracks in the (seemingly) less cooperative PAL version. While I don't think Nintendo meant for PAL to be "harder" than NTSC per se, most of the more advanced techniques require more precision on PAL (due to PAL's altered physics) so it really does make for a good "boot camp" for SMK time trialing. GAS, you're a native NTSC player who's played your share of PAL yourself, so what are your thoughts?
