Nicely done Karel! VL1 feels like a fight for survival to me so I’m always impressed by the precision at the top level. Try taking a page out of Aron’s book and driving that flap on lap 5 of your next PR Cheesy

Got the sub and non-NBT top 10! A couple days ago I missed the sub with a 1’30 flat thanks to a bad lap 2. I got it within an hour just now, and the race was average for the most part. The hairpins were consistently bad; laps 1-3 all had a tiny dirthit on the approach, and then a boost to mitigate the timeloss. My nerves kicked in right before the final lap hairpin and I slid through the dirt at the apex, but again the boost kept my run alive. I’ve done plenty of laps with a dirthit+boost to recover but doing it 4/5 times in a PR is pretty bad! I had another race that was a tenth faster going into lap 5, and earlier in the week there was a race “17 faster after lap 4 thanks to a crazy 17”96 opener. I’m only “10 from Legend A so that’ll be my target now.

^ That name sounds familiar. Where have I seen "Yu" before? I seem to remember there was a Bobby Yu at N64HS (old site for Nintendo 64 game records). I actually administered that site for five years, from 2003 to 2008, but I've been a member since 1999, back when Iacopo "Nai" Sorce, the site's original creator, was the one doing updates.

You need a full set of times to join, by the way. Be sure to get times for MC4 through RR, even if they're just one-try "placeholders". Only then can "Yu" be ranked.

I'm pretty sure that was me. I submitted times/scores to a Nintendo 64 game records site (most likely N64HS) after I realized that there were sites like the MK64 Player's Page. I am also currently on CyberScore under the same username.

MC3: 17”73 (GOD, #3)

After Karel said my flap reminded him of MJ’s, I had to take things a step further and equal his time! This PR is pretty neat, but I can’t even be excited about it because I crashed a fucking 1’29”4x in the same race. 17”99, 17”73, 17”84, 17”88, and lap 5 was going well until I turned too early at the hairpin. I could tell I had a ridiculous lead on my ghost, but half a second didn’t seem possible. All I needed was a crappy 18”08 for my first #2 non-NBT time. No chance I’ll get another run like this, but at least my flap has a fixed camera?

The lap is pretty killer, no surprise there. The second corner was ugly but everything else was really good. This time I got a boost after the hairpin; I feel like that strat has more potential, but it’s easier to lose time on the next corner if your approach angle isn’t good. This is only the second 17”7x I’ve driven, and I wasn’t even trying for a flap. Definitely got really lucky, and I guess that should help me forget about the failed 5lap.

Surprisingly quick PR here after a vacation of a few weeks to the welcoming land that is GP150cc. I had played this 5-lap for around 10 hours before the break, but got to pretty much the worst possible chrono in terms of time input versus AF: good enough to be competitive for the podium, but right behind a triple tie. I was not expecting anything, just testing the ~~waters~~ ice a bit to see if I could still execute the strat after my GP adventures. Then in less than 10 minutes I finished this run. Mindblock removed I guess? It's funny how that works sometimes. This is still half a second slower than Aron, so obviously improvable, but I think I'll take the podium and run with it.

Well, GV1 is one of the tracks I care more about than most, so I decided I would try to defend against Aron's attack rapidly. Got this 59"16 WR tie very quickly yesterday, but today's session of 90 minutes or so ended up empty handed. Anyway, got some superb splits that confirm 59"0x should be the minimum target and even make a 58"9x seem somewhat doable (though after the 1'24 BC1 fiasco I don't want to be too optimistic).
