Nice PRs this week Andrea! Those BC3 thwomps will always be a pain no matter how good you are. This is one of those courses where it’s not unusual to have a wallhit in a 5lap; the trick is to avoid crashing and then recover without losing too much time. Also, you can save a lot of time by jumping over all the yellow bumpers. If you can figure out the timing and get a clean lap with all the jumps, you’d get a flap well into the 19s.

Well damn this was an awesome surprise

I picked up SMK again and was just trying to regain the consistency I lost since last playing. I didn’t get any 5lap attempts into the later laps but I was getting decent splits when I wasn’t crashing. About an hour in, I managed three low 17”6x openers in quick succession, but hitting a flap still wasn’t on my mind. The surprise came on lap 2 of a 5lap: the beginning half felt normal, then I nailed all 3 big turns and realized I may have done something. I was just happy to PR and never imagined getting a 17”3x. It’s a non-NBT top 5, CR, and my third GOD this year!
Now I just need to put in the effort to finish a good clean 5lap. I’ve played a few hours since the flap, got a few good runs to lap 4 but none past it. A mid 1’28 seems feasible with good driving and cooperation from the thwomps.
