the tech may be useful for ticking flaps if it's possible to prolongue it with the tick w/o loosing speed...

I tried a bit RMC1 lap ticking after the A+B start.
It works but it does not save time.
Maybe some other track.

I found this A+B thing out a long time ago but I found it difficult to do and didn't think it'd matter that much. I have tried it on RMC1 mostly but I'm not sure if I used it in my pr.

Honestly, I don't see any reason to ban this and not ZZMT. At least anyone can do this and not only the players with modded DS's

Well, I think you posted this a little too late, because now it's banned. I have the same opinion.
But the moderators didn't agree with this strat because it was not done with a normal departure because we had to stop. So they banned it  :'(  :'(

Enzio, mksc should be a driving game. There is no fluidity or fun in driving a lap, stopping and then doing an AB spin to boost better, its a skank trick. Cleverly worked out but a skank none-the-less.

'Fluidity' and 'fun' are both pretty subjective Tom -- one man's annoyance (ZZMT) is another man's intrigue (AB boost). Did you really ban it on the grounds of it's disturbing a normal playing session by having to stop on the track? We better ban the use of knocking cones out the way on DC flap on MKWii, then, because thats a disturbance to normal playing too. Why not IB on MC2 on SMK, for exactly the same reason? Or the ice blocks on VL1 + VL2...

I can see you saying that this could be used on more than one track, whereas the above examples are one-offs, which therefore has no major consequence on all the other track strats; but it still was only ever something that affected your first shroom - the rest of the flap was otherwise untouched. I appreciate that it is banned now and it won't be unturned but I'd just like to have what I have said thrown out there.

AFAIK, it doesn't matter if you do simple or double-bouncing, the main rule is pretty clear for me : you have to respect the non-SC way a little, and you have to pass over ONE wall per bounce !

For example, this strat is banned, but not yours. Wink

I don't understand why you can't shroom through the gap in the wall at the beginning of CCI. You can go through it, but you can't use a shroom to do so. This doesn't make any sense to me.

"Comparable to skipping boundaries" Wth does it matter if I'm allowed to drive through it anyway?

you coulda looked somewhere else on the board.

the shroom through the wall isn't allowed because you inadvertently bounce over a bit of the wall, which is faster than going through the wall "as intended by the developer". since in some cases you can't tell whether or not you actually skipped over some wall, the whole procedure is banned.

I think (this is just my opinion) that the right question to ask is why this SC is allowed :

-It cuts half of the track.
-Lakitu comes with his "REVERSE" panel, when you take the SC.
-When you fall in the water where the normal 3lap shroomspot is (the second part of the SC), Lakitu put you on the bridge near the beginning of the SC Roll Eyes

Weird imo, but I don't care much now since I have decent PR's there Smiley

I think I found another place where you can use a "tricking" boost, similar to SW. On Yoshi Desert, on the jump over the oasis at the end, you can trick off of the piranha plant in front of the bumper to prolong your boost after you hit the track again. When this happened to me, I jumped a bit late, and hit the piranha plant as it was coming out of the quicksand. I wasn't sucked into the quicksand, but I still got the message saying that my ghost cannot be saved. Am I right in assuming that this is banned?

Yes it is. If you hit this piranha, you have to have A held (at least just before landing), otherwise it'll be considered as tricking, so not allowed. Wink
