I voted for David Wonn.

I know Paul fairly well, and I've known David for several years and shared many great gaming experiences with him.

I respect Paul for playing 4 out of 5 kart games and being MKDD World Champion early on for a brief while. Being first to get 32/32 GOD times in MKDD is also admirable. He obviously has wonderful karting skills.

What I really like is that he has supplied many vids to help others learn the strats better. It's always good to see the top players giving back to the community and helping the newcomers. And I'll always remember him as one of the three guys (along with Michael Liem and Mark Jones) who managed the last karter contest in 2004. He did very well in that contest and I expect him to do well this time also.

David Wonn deserves his props for creating a majority of the kart SCs in 1997 (before I even started playing). Wonn gave back to the community and others with his glitches website that shares all of his noteworthy discoveries. His SC findings and level of intelligence are amazing.

I used to sit at the computer back in 1999 and talk to David for hours. We'd talk about potential SCs and such, and then we'd both get the urge to play at the same time and we'd be like, "hey, let's both go play for an hour and see if any of us can get the SC to work first." Then we'd come back to the computer and talk about our SC attempts from the previous session and such. Man, I'd like to do that again sometime.

Hah, and we both agreed that lighting up a room with exploding mines in Goldeneye 007 was an awesome experience...it used to send chills down both of our spines. Smiley

The main reason why I voted for David though, back in September of 1999, shortly after I became the first person to land the spiral on Rainbow Road, Wonn told me he wouldn't be around to play as much in the near future and he said I was worthy of being the main SC creator in his place. And then he said, "I'm passing the SC torch on to you." A week or two after that, I landed the MyleStyle SC for the first time. It is one of the greatest honors of my career that David chose me to carry on his work.

In most matches, I would vote for Paul because I really like the guy and I've had a lot of good times with him in the MSN chats. As expected, Paul won this match and I'm happy for him, but I voted for David to show loyalty and appreciation more than anything.

I have to share my vote for this one as well.

I also voted for Wonn - even though it was very hard to vote against Paul and I'm glad that Paul gets to move on.

Wonn used to be one of the top 3 or so people (along with Booth and Whalls) that I spent the most time talking to online about MK64. Wonn's always been one of the nicest guys to talk to and his ability to analyze games and discover glitches is really unprecedented. He used to send me Dex ghosts of some of his SC runs and I remember racing against his LR MyleStyle ghost in an attempt at trying to land it (too bad I never did).

I actually nearly got to meet Wonn when he was in San Diego for work a few years ago but my truck at the time happened to break down that week. That would have been right up there with meeting Liem and Weatherton. Oh well, maybe someday...

That was an annoying matchup, since I respect Wonn lots. But I haven't spoken to him much in the last couple of years, whereas I've spoken to Paul lots more since. Sad to see Wonn drop out so soon.

I also remember Wonn from the glitches and his name is very very familiar.

But I voted for Paul. Paul is cool and his MKDD contribution helped me a lot.

I forget ( Wink), but I put down that Wonn was going to win (in the Prediction Contest). Why? When I first found MarioKart64.com, I heard: Kevin Booth, Toad's Turnpike, Mark Jones, David Wonn.  Cool

Myles , it was first 32/32 GOD videos , but it doesn't matter that much.

Voted for Moly. Despite not agreeing with him all the time, we're very close in the mkdd ranks and he does have an opinion that he stands for. On top of that he's the king of swing, and officially (not unofficially, mind) makes weirder pictures than me. And that's quite an accomplishment, maybe even better than his mkdd position.

Well time for me to say a bunch of stuff everybody knows again to try to compliment both of these guys lol.

I voted for Marius.

To David Taylor, I wish you the best pursuing financial security and everything else I hear you're trying to better about your life. The Martin thing hurt a lot of us and I won't talk about it much because everything that needs to be said has been said and it hurts to sit here and continue talking about what a good person we all lost.

But as for yourself, from a distance, I saw the good progress you made as a karter and your contributions to the MB and I appreciate and respect all you've put forth here. Really all I have is your bio and what others have said, no first hand experience, all I hear is you're trying to earn some money to this very day. I wish you the best in your pursuit, I'm glad to see you striving to make something positive out of life after the disappointment and painful news you received last November, and I admire your character that after all these months you continue striving and are hopefully moving very close to the results you want to see. I'm a Christian, I'll pray for you that you fulfill your current mission.

I don't know David well though, and I've had many good times with Marius and been thoroughly impressed by his gaming skills. Btw, I really like that nickname (Holy Moly), really.  Smiley

His website always gets me curious and I find myself stuck infront of the computer for a while looking through all his pics (lol). Good to see a guy that appreciates Uma Thurman that much.

His MKDD skills...WOW. Yeah he's great. And that 16 star completion run for Super Mario 64 he did I can really relate to. I'm amazed at how he (and Jacob Cannon) can play cleanly for so long and do one trick after another without messing up the run. He's got great stamina and it would take me a long time to match his efforts in 16 star completion. His Cruel Tutelage was awesome.  Smiley He had me walking around humming the kill bill theme for days after I watched the vid.

So I voted for Marius because I've got good experiences with the guy. David Taylor, I give you my best wishes (a few months later than I mean to, but I just realized this when reading your bio) and I pray and hope that you get whatever you're searching for.

Voted for Mark , even though i would have most the time just him playing Steven made it 100times easier , i don't think i ever had a decent convo with Steven when i used to talk to him without him being competive and being an asshole.  Can you tell i don't like him?  Cheesy

I'm going to post why i voted for who i did seeing as i'm bored and it's 9.20am  Tongue

1st Match  - Penev - Penev has helped me in the past with a lot of things including mkdd and when i was starting to learn how to creat web pages. We had a lot of long night convos about random stuff like girls (i bet you couldn't have guessed that) and sending music to one another, also being a updater with him on the mkdd page.

2nd Match - Trystan - Trystan is cool , the video he made about kart was cool also. We also had good chats on AIM long into the night, him making WRs in mkdd after a short amount of time on MB.

3rd Match - Karel - Karel i met at the kart meet and is very cool , he gave me my first good match (also Barber) on pro evo lol which was nice. He is the #1 on smk in both PAL and NTSc which is amazing.

4th Match - Karlo - Karlso is the 1st player to get GOD in both non sc and sc on mk64 which has to account for something as no-one else has done it. We had some good chats on AIM and he helped me with some mk64.

5th Match - MJ - I enjoyed talking to Mj at the kart meet , he was one of the coolest people there. Him playing games is crazy , he doesn't even look like he is trying and when he messes up it's quite funny to watch him. We like some of the same music and had many chats on MSN.

6th Match - Robin - I didn't know much about either of these layers but i voted for Robin for  updating the rival page on mk64 which kept me playing for a long time.

7th Match - Lacey - I haven't talked to Lacey for a while but we used to chat most the time, his "girl" picture is also quite funny and him reaching GOD on mk64 first is to be looked up at. Don't like him beating me in the last contest though hehe.

8th Match - Karlsson - As i wrote this Karlsson is the #1 in mkdd and we talked alot on MSN about mkdd.

9th Match -

10th Match - Tom - Tom is a cool guy , we talk alot on MSN also and he helped create the mksc page and get it up and running. A shame he couldn't come to the meet up.
