No wonder Flo didn't want to repeat himself...
Timur: The day after I saw Flo's original post and the edit, I sent a series of PMs to Flo explaining why his post was edited and an explanation of why the community and especially the administrators would view that kind of post the way we do. I don't think he got it at all - he's pretty set on how he views things and how he feels about them I think. Thanks for trying though.
Flo, I'll try again:
Quote:It would be extremely dumb and disrespectful of me to ask for the readdition of my account for no reason...
New players get "added for no reason" whenever they join the site. If the times posted are legitimate, we are in fact eager to see a new face around here, especially considering that this game has been out for a decade now.
What
wasn't carefully thought out in your original post was the fact that you were asking volunteers to go through the trouble of digging up deleted times, and you went out of your way to mention that you had no desire to actually be a part of this community in practically the same sentence. That's like asking someone for help with something, then turning your back on them and not associating yourself with them or even thanking them for their trouble.
That's the misunderstanding here. I don't think you honestly intended to offend anybody, but with the way you worded yourself, you did. A better post would be something along the lines of:
Quote:So... I would like to know a couple times I achieved in MKSC, but since my account has been deleted and I can't access my game, I don't know them. Do you guys know of a way I could find the times? Or, if it's not possible for me to do it, could an administrator find a log of my times or something? Thanks in advance.
Make sense now?
Oh, and by the way. Portraying yourself as some kind of victim of injustice - ["So now, stop your bullshit posts and stop flaming me for no reason."] - while describing what
you say with words like "intelligent and interesting" isn't exactly going to make your posts desirable to read.
So yes, I guess I'll conclude by saying that I am in full agreement with this post.
Quote:Demanding that your times be removed from the site is a slap in the face to the people who run it, whether or not you had a good reason for it. So to turn around and ask those people for a favor, while still refusing to put your times back up, is just incredibly arrogant and disrespectful. It was a stupid, selfish thing to ask, so I'm not surprised Rambi decided to intervene and save Flo from the embarrassment of having asked it.
