Well, they're not on par with some of the scores I see on here, but I unlocked another staff ghost today! DDD 1'50'894 35'837 Also improved my DDJ time to 2'05'390. I've unlocked 15 of the staff ghosts, and beaten 11 of them.

All of my times, couple Adv D's but most Int A or B, are without SSMT's. Whenever I try them..seems I veer off too much, and have to over compensate. Anyone got any suggestions on how to start incorporating them? Or is it just a feeling you get by practicing enough?

When you are at the level of beating staff ghosts. first try to cut corners and mt propperly. when you have more experience in mt'ing then move on and try SSMT. some say wait until Hero rank other say try as soon as possible. I think in your case wait until you mastered the normal mt's since they are still very important in corners. when you hit some experts it might be very wise to start ssmt.

That's actually a great barometer to go by, I know there's a lot of room for improvement on all of them, even with jsut normal MT's and corners. I know I feel great when I unlock, and then beat, a staff ghost. lol Hero seems awful high without more MT's, but I'll trust your judgement and work on what I can for now. Thanks!

I think Piet was referring to A-tech, or SMT, to hold off until Hero. SSMTs without A-tech can of course be incorporated before Hero, but it is just what you said; it will take some time to get a feel for the game and how the kart will react to different things. That plus faster MTs should get you doing SSMTs pretty well.

Thanks for the added words. I have read about A - Tech on that newbies page that someone did. It makes my brain feel like it needs to be rescued by Lakitu!! LMAO

I dont' think I'll be trying that particular thing anytime soon
