^yes, but you can also fastfall for longer before pulling up. You land about the same time no matter when you jump. It is pretty much just the length and the best approach to the turn that differs... In my experience at least.

It doesn't really mean much. All can give about the same leads. I would think hitting about half through a jump would be the best so try jumping just before you get in so you don't get the highest point, but not completely neutral either. They seem to be about evenly good though.

(No jump, full jump and all those in between)
