I suggest to add MKSC logo and link to the head of the players' page site, between the MK64 one and then MKDD one!

Can I just ask, are the rules for the SNES tracks up yet, and are any of the rules available on the site?

Also I still am not sure about the rules for cheese land. Am I allowed to jump to the right on the first jump, and then land on the bouncy square? If not, I really don't see why, because it seems a very natural thing to do. I can't believe that they would have put that area of bounciness there for no reason.

The reason I ask is because the fastest lap on the site at the moment is quite a lot quicker than I can do without it, but slower than I can manage with it.

I have sent in just my PC times at the moment, but I will keep submitting more and more as I get them. As I said I am using my brother's cartridge (now empty  Wink) and will need to unlock the extra tracks.

If these cheese land method is definately not allowed, is there a way to just delete that time on my game?

I don't know if you already have a set of rules or not yet, but I have written my take on them here. Feel free to ignore or use them as you wish, but I have tried to make them as clear and as consistant as possible. I haven't compared them to what you have already done, but if there is any decision could go either way perhaps we could just make a poll for and just go with the most popular. As I said before, the exact rules don't matter but it is important to get something up (and preferably on a page on the site) as quickly as possible.

Quote:
Rules for all tracks :      No tricking. No bouncing onto water and then over a barrier. No using Lakitu or lap tricks.

Peach Circuit -
Shy Guy Beach - Water and shroom slides allowed
Riverside Park - No shrooming between the bricks, but you can use the thin bridge just after the jump
Bowser Castle 1 -
Mario Circuit -
Boo Lake - Driving on the invisible platform/s is allowed. No using the bumps to considerably cut the track.
Cheese Land - No using the mice. Shrooming from the first jump and onto the bouncy square is allowed.
Bowser Castle 2 -
Luigi Circuit - Driving through the gap is allowed
Sky Garden - No using the first jump to considerably cut the track. Shrooming onto other jumps is alright as long as Lakitu isn't used.
Cheep Cheep Island - Shrooming across the water and onto the tiny bridge is allowed.
Sunset Wilds - Shrooming onto the bump to cut the last corner/s is allowed.
Snow Land -
Ribbon Road - No going to the left or right over the jumps.
Yoshi Desert - You can use the jump by the quicksand to make the jump.
Bowser Castle 3 - No taking the shortcut on the line of jumps over the lava.
Lakeside Park - You can shroom across the lake and cut off the last section of track using the bouncy square.
Broken Pier - No driving backwards, but can use the invisible platform/s
Bowser Castle 4      -
Rainbow Road - No using Lakitu, but you can bounce and shroom wherever you like.

Retro Mario Circuit 1 -
Retro Donut Plains 1 -
Retro Ghost Valley 1 -
Retro Bowser Castle 1 -
Retro Mario Circuit 2 - No landing in the area next to the start or using Lakitu.
Retro Choco Island 1 - You may shroom and use the bumps to cut corners.
Retro Ghost Valley 2 -
Retro Donut Plains 2 - You may shroom across the lake.
Retro Bowser Castle 2 -
Retro Mario Circuit 3 - You may shroom through the whole in the wall.
Retro Koopa Beach 1 - No lap tricks. Not sure about rules here. "No lap tricks" might cover it actually. If not we could either allow anything, tell people to make an effort to go round the track (bit vague though), or say something like "must touch or go outside of the small dot of land for each lap".
Retro Choco Island 2 - No lap tricks, but can use shrooms on the bumps to cut corners.
Retro Vanilla Lake 1 -
Retro Bowser Castle 3 -
Retro Mario Circuit 4 -
Retro Donut Plains 3 - No shrooming onto the jump to cut the track.
Retro Koopa Beach 2 -
Retro Ghost Valley 3 - Shrooming across gaps is allowed provided Lakitu isn't needed.
Retro Vanilla Lake 2 -
Retro Rainbow Road - No shrooming off the track after the third corner to reach the finish line.

edit : Oh, and one more thing. do I qualify for a trusted user tick? I consider myself to be somewhat of a veteran at MKSC, and I am a moderator on CS.  Wink

You did a great work, Mark  Smiley
Your rule set is enough clear and it's good for me.
Let's wait for other people opinion then we can copy it in "joining info" section.

Maybe we can change the general rules:
Rules for all tracks : No tricking (the real name is 'ticking' AFAIK, because, when you hit the wall/tree you can hear 'tick'). No bouncing onto water and then over a barrier. No lakitu help. No lap skip.

The single track rules will be shorter and easier to read.

I agree with these rules, i'd worded it all the same other than KB1 - where its a case of saying "no piss taking"..

I'll post the complete set of rules up today on the mainpage.

Cheesy Thanks.

I've edited my post with some of the corrections, but I think I will leave the exact wording of KB1 for someone else to sort out. I almost did write Ticking, but I couldn't remember for sure what it was called, and I noticed that it had been called Tricking in this topic to that's what I went with.

The site has been updated and also you can note that the rules are now under TRACK RULES - link on the left hand bar for those who forget or are new in a few months and the post isn't on the main page anymore.

Nice. Spotted a few mistakes though. One is my fault, the other isn't.  Wink I have bolded what it should be changed to.

Retro Mario Circuit 3
You may shroom through the hole in the wall.

Riverside Park
No shrooming between the bricks, but you can use the thin bridge just after the jump.

Now that the site is up and finally has times, when should I expect my profile to appear?

I mailed in all of my times yesterday and I do realize that it wont appear instantly.

I know that updating issues etc. are still being worked out but I am just curious to when I can expect regular updates to occur like every 2 or 3 days because I will then send in more times.

Its great that we have the site finally up and running.  Grin

I submitted some times recently an was wondering why it never showed up on the yahoo groups, did you not approve of my times or have you not gotten to them yet.  I think I sent a batch before the last update and did not see them.

Do I need videos of my times to see them appear on the site because already posted one under the videos thread recently.

I made 2 replay videos so far on mksc and I was wondering where I should post the video links if I want them to be considered for proof.

For the Broken Pier flap, the WR is 12'63??? by Pierre.

Did he mean 21'63 because it could just be a typo or something, lol.

I had the old WR of 21'53 and was just wondering if a time of 12'xx is actually possible there, lol.

I think Pierre is using the old conventional 3-lap strategy, which is now considered SC, but I'm not sure.
(I think he uses the bumper that takes you to the "platform island", but goes farther to the right, which is considered backwards, as far as I know.)

In any case, there aren't really strats to go as fast without using routes that are no longer considered Non-SC, so it's a valid question.

Thomas Miffin's DP3 F-lap is SC, at any rate.

So if it's SC, don't worry, I already drove non-SC times (something like 1'06"xx if I remember).

Retro DP3 flap, and also BC3, are SC. Undecided

Yes, this is what I thought you did.
As far as I know, this is considered SC under the current ruling.

OK, now look at the last shroom in this vid. Is this one non-SC ? I started to use this shroomspot for a 3-laps attempt...

That should be Non-SC.

Shrooming straight at the bumper where you use your second shroom (The same spot you previously used for 3-laps.) and landing on the little "platform island" is considered Non-SC.
