Are they ready yet? As the site isn't up, I recall only the updating being a problem.. does that mean the standards have been made? Also, if they have, can you show what the standards are? thx

Nice to see I'm not the only crybaby in the community.  Wink

This looks great, as expected. I'm off to set times to complete my set.

Thanks to all involved

Might want to see what the rules are for the SNES tracks first. I know right now that KB1 could be a nightmare to sort out.

This is very exciting!  I'm gonna be participating.

Hmmm, I'm not sure that I have TT mode unlocked for the SNES tracks on MKSC.  Do I need to beat the game with all gold trophies to unlock this?

(It's been a looong time since I played the game, sorry for the n00b question!)

Yeah.. you can take turns so sharp (at least what I've seen in vids) it's unbelievable you don't bounce off the wall..

I am gonna compete "intensively" in sc's and somewhat submitting my non-sc times only once  Roll Eyes I don't like no sc on mksc (as mksc allready tells, it's mario kart shortcut Wink )

the hardest part it to mt through grass, I can't do it yet (I could, but I forgot how to after a few months of not touching it) so I lose a lot of time on that part allready..

But the turns.. I just find it unbelievable! They are by far the sharpest possible in game history! Cheesy Ahh well, still have a way to go if you can see I have 50.xx on PC and 44.95 on BC1 (I can go sub 50 on PC btw w/h cutting through grass)

I will await the standards to compete.. I allready have 2 decent no glitch times Cheesy

When is the site officialy launched (so you can check on times etc.)

To be quite blunt, you can fuck off if you are expecting standards soon. Standards are likely to be made after a few months of competitive competition when theres at least 40 people with full sets of times, when we have a fair idea what a beginners times would be, what most people enter with, what courses are harder to rank on than others etc.

They will be done, like everything else but as with every other mk site - its probably the last part of the site to be done.

Please, patience is a virtue and btw - its my birthday!

I won't be anywhere near as blunt as Tom, but he's right.
A lot courses do not yet have the Non-SC routes fully worked out. New standards won't substantiate until we have established how the courses are played and have a fair estimate of what's reasonable for the respective levels of standard(s) - This is the essence behind the concept. It will be more beneficial to make them later when we are better equipped to judge what times should correspond to each level instead of rushing to get it done and having to rethink them just months later.

Yes, standards are doable only when right strats will be clear enough and after some months.
Who can't wait for that, can take Su non ticking times as god standards
Note: only MKSC tracks and 3lap are known, they are very old and a couple of strats may be changed:

PC      47"65
SGB      54"73
RP      51"38
BC1      43"05

MC       56"21

and there has been competition for like 3 yrs allready.. (so it shouldn't take months of competitive competition)

I also recal you said the standards would be launched with the site... at least the obvious competed ones..

You are right on this point.
The only problem is that everyone played with his own rules.
I've a good idea of ticking times for some courses, but i dont even know the strats for non ticking (especially for fast lap).
Maybe KartSeven could, because i think he is the player with the major all around knoledgment

Me and SeB can help and give some advices, especially for SNES tracks I think. Unfortunately I don't have a lot of time cos I have a job since a few weeks and it takes me a lot of my playing's time. Tongue But if you have asks for some circuits, I can try to help you. Wink

The site has gone up so people stop moaning and so people realise people are doing things. Albeit slowly. The standards would never go up at the same time as the site. I am pretty sure i said the site would go up when i had a couple of full submissions for times. Need to work out whats allowed and not first.

I want to say that everyone can make demonstrative videos easily and without a videocamera:

Download vba-rerecording.exe emulator at:
http://www.filespace.org/nitsuja/vba-rerecording-17.zip

or

http://www.savefile.com/files/5189890

Launch the emulator, load the MKSC rom (not included), play a course, then, when the race is over, go to menu: tools-->record-->start avi recording, choose the file name and location, choose the encoder, launch the standard game replay and , when it's over, just stop it ( tools-->record-->stop avi recording).

Everyone can show his path/shortcut
