I guess your right, but until they start submitting on this site, I class these a word records. Tongue

Yeah, but what are "word" records?   Wink

You're right, but for the wrong reason. Since PRB is banned here it is okay to ignore the PRB records when considering WRs using the rules. However, they beat our WRs on some courses that you can't PRB on, such as Rainbow Road. That's why our scores aren't WRs.

Well, you're partially right, partially wrong.  On courses that you say it's impossible to PRB on, they hold the WRs.  On other courses, we hold the Non-PRB WRs.  That's the only logical way we can look at it.

True, but the issue wasn't really what scores were WRs. The issue is whether or not we have the right to call all of our scores the WRs, which I strongly believe we can't since better scores that abide by our rules have been proven to exist. Even though it says WRs based on site records or something along those lines, we still actually call them WRs. It's a discrepancy with an easy fix: call the records here site records or give them a special name (ex: N64HS calls their records "Nai WRs" (Stands for Nintendo alias Iacopo (founder of the site, I believe) or something like that))

triple parentheses XD

Triple parentheses = hardcore lol

Well since we do have our own well organized set of rules(more organized than anything I've ever seen), but we know better scores exist. . . I'mma have to agree with you.

Because you were doubted, only this is told. Wink
At present, no one uses PRB in CCB.
I think that this is an effect of an official rally.

We do have a special name, "WRs (based on site charts)".  I don't see why you have a problem with that.  And as I said, who cares if some random guy who doesn't submit has a faster time?  In every WR competition in the history of competitions, the list of WRs is always based on what people submit.  Just stop annoying us already and use some common sense.

i see alot of ppl complaining but im sure no one would be willing to go and make there own site and keep it updated and put in all the effort it takes to keep the site up and running... if the site wants to use WRs they have every right to (even thought it does say "WRs (based on site charts)")

If they change it to SRs (Site Records) what happens to the times on the site that actually are WRs? they would be now classified as SRs... really who cares what they are called... i mean some ppl argue over the stupidest shit

It's like the Olympics.  You have World Records, and you also have Olympic Records.  There's no saying that the World Record couldn't be the Olympic Record.

In every WR competition in the history of competitions, the list of WRs is always based on what people submit.

You need to base a WR list off of what people submit to all known websites, as long as there is some sort of credibility. SSBM used this system and it worked extraordinarily well.

Just stop annoying us already and use some common sense.

Hmm...common sense says you can't call a score a WR when a better one is known to exist Roll Eyes
Common sense also says that when certain systems have been proven to be very effective it isn't a bad idea to adopt to them. Since I have many supporters on this one it is clear that there are flaws.

If they change it to SRs (Site Records) what happens to the times on the site that actually are WRs? they would be now classified as SRs... really who cares what they are called... i mean some ppl argue over the stupidest shit

You have a separate list of the WRs with no rankings involved. Just have something like "Best known scores" for WRs and "site records"

That's exactly how we have it in the F-Zero community.

Yes, I know. That's how the SSBM community and SSB64 communities have run for like 7 years now. It is a method that has been proven to be effective and easy to use.

Is there a site where you can translate stuff into japanese by entereing it in a text field?  Nice records though, no idea whether PRB would be allowed here if the japanese players submitted times.

Thanks, I can now get part of my Mario Kart wifi name in Japanese.

Just translating the Japanese site FAQ page...

Who here cares if they are called site or world records?  Frankly, no one does.  They're practically the same thing, what su11y put on the top of the WRs page and the site records suggestion.

If you bothered to read the thread you would know that a lot of people care about it Roll Eyes

For accuracy's sake it needs to be changed. The current system is a contradiction.
I don't see why it is so hard to change one word >_>;;;
