My Cheese Land 1-Lap : 16"42

On the second lap, I slide inside the things on the first corner and use a shroom. I use my second shroom to hit the first jump, and land on the bouncy square. My last shroom I use on the last straight.

Note : Without shrooming on that jump, it is possible to still go to the right there but you have to make a tight turn around the wall afterwards, or to use the bouncy square after the second jump instead. Another reason why I feel this method should be allowed.

This Cheese Land bumper plate dilemma has been discussed by myself in a recent thread.
You shouldn't be using a shroom, but rather a blue boost to reach the bumper plate to your right. (It can be done by just using more of the boost strip as well, but this is not faster than a blue boost.)

Make sure you get a blue boost around the turn that leads into the lap as well, and don't shroom until the boost has worn off.

I disagree. It makes no sense to me to be allowed to go that way using a blue boost but not a shroom. It is exactly the same route. It is like saying that you can't use a shroom around a certain corner.

Can you point me to the topic you discussed it in? I mentioned in one as well, and I didn't see anyone disagreeing with me.

edit : I just got 16"46 without using a boost there, so it doesn't seem to make all that much difference Undecided

I am not debating the allowance depending on shroom versus boost, I'm saying it should be allowed no matter what. I was just mentioning to you that you shouldn't waste a shroom to get to it, when all you need is a blue boost. (I also mentioned that you don't even need a blue boost.) You should be using your shroom elsewhere for a faster time.

Edit: The posts are on pages 1 and 2 in the site suggestion and info topic.

It's not a lot faster, but aligning yourself so you can use enough of the strip before hitting the jump that you gain enough speed to reach the bumper plate takes more time than using a blue boost, since you go straight to it with added speed on the straight before the boost strip.

Use one shroom after the very first boost, one after landing from the jump, and one on the final straight.

I did do it once, and that's how I got the fast lap, but I am way more consistant using the shroom. Just pulled off some fairly decent LC times. 1-Lap : 22"93 3-Lap : 1'14"60 Still more to go from there though.

The strat is similar to the one i've "painted" on the map:

But now i use the first shroom a bit later, the second one early and i dont go straight to the last edge like in the image, but i go wide at the right in order to launch the last shroom early and closing well the turn at the left.

If i'm not wrong, Archi had a 7"24 lap, IMO w/o ticking, because his 5lap at the time was 48"xx (tipical non ticking time).

I will give it a try, but I think I have gotten about as good as I can get with that. The one thing I notice about your picture is that my blue boost is actually on the point where the finish line touches the sand. I don't suppose it makes that much difference though...

If I remember, for my 15"20, 2 spots seem normal : after 1st corner and after last corner ! For the last one, I did it... after the corner before the last one ! Pretty hard to avoid jumps with the speed, and do a good last corner, but with a good practice I think it's the best 3rd spot.

I had also tried after the 2nd corner, but you won't have the MT's effect if you use the 3rd shroom here...

I do 2 boosts : one after the 2nd corner, and one after the 1st square (by the way, I pass on the left of the 2 squares, in the lap's middle, if you see ).
