I'll update it if we can start from scratch.

By this I mean the following:

1) The site will only feature non-trick times. Non Lakitu and then I will deliberate on some of the other "sc's" such as the backwards driving on BP3.

2) All times currently on the site to be removed due to ambiguity of sc's used in concurence with the previous rules laid out by the site.

I believe this is fine due to the fact that Gamefaqs will be linked and listed as the actual WR's in terms of fastest possible times to achieve in the game. - they will also be updated on a page in the site.

3) From there I will gather what times I can and put together standards to correllate with the other games with a view to eventually including mksc in the alternative Overall MK rankings site.

4) Long boosting will be allowed (i.e cornering to save up a boost to cut grass at the right place) its almost natural to this game and therefore the times and strats will be closer to Sami's SMK site than the non-nbt site.

People are likely to say no to removing the older times - I say, if anyone wants to keep them somewhere then fine. But in terms of making an active site which people want to contribute to then I suggest let me have a go.

The other thing i want to say is that with MKDS on teh horizon more people will be owning a handheld and have the option to play mksc which hopefully will improve general activity.

Thoughts and opinions please.  

Hmm, some interesting points:

You said about not wanting to take your times down? but  no-one is updating the new site so surely the times which are currently there which abide by the old rules are now outdated anyway?

I was intending on archiving those old times somewhere?

But otherwise I would expect every player to have a profile and perhaps you could include your other times on that page?

I was going to allow shrooming as long as there is no tricking off anything.

Otherwise boosting refers to the powerslide boosts which you can do (again as long as you dont trick) around corners.

Therefore you would for instance be able to do some of the sc's where you shroom across water, e.g lakeside, but not the water lap tricks on KB1 etc.

Its clear in my mind that tricking falls under non normal driving conditions so therefore is an SC like lakitu lap skips etc..

I'm trying to purify something. Therefore tricking will have to go - but again the existing times with tricking will stand.

Tom, like I said I wouldn't want to set new times for those that would be permissable under your guidelines.

Your post didn't specify, but I'm thinking they will be eligible for entry into the new site, as long as they abide by the rules created for it.

I'm not objecting to your removal of times which may use a different approach, other than intended for this site. I wasn't clear on that. I apologise.

i agree with what youre saying about resetting the times because you dont know which ones were set using sc's and which ones normally.
one vote for clearing the old times.

just tell me what courses (and how many, and how they need to be grouped) you need and I can save you a lot of time.

Do both groupings need separate AF and ARR? (like SC and nonsc) or do you combine all tracks into one AF and ARR chart? Having separate AF and ARR will probably mean having 2 champs, which is weird.

How do you currently tell if a submission for BC is for one track or the other, just based on the time and the person's skill?

There's one problem I see with deleting the old times, and that's that the older players are gonna have trouble motivating themselves to get back into it.

By the older players, I mean Luprano, zkenny and the like (this includes myself, but me coming back is out of the question anyway), not the old old players who are obviously not gonna bother.

One vote for all the current times to be moved to SC (unless specified otherwise), and the other chart to start relatively anew.

So there's 40 tracks (= 80 charts?) and these combine to give an AF and ARR rating and totaltimes and whatnot.
Does this count as "Non-SC", then?

Do you need another copy of these 40 tracks for "SC" racing, which produces a separate ARR/AF?
