Hello, and some questions
07/07/05 at 15:11:53

Hello all, Ben Allen here. Im a FZero player from MFO, and not a bad one at that Wink. Basically I have some three year old times for MKSC, and I want to add them to the site. However, I see that it is not active anymore and to be honest Im confused. Thus:

1)Is this site active anymore?
2) Who holds all the WRs, and what are their times? (a WR list, basically, as updated as possible)
3)What techs are there to learn?
4)Is anyone still active anymore?

I think that sums it up. Goodbye, and thanks for all the fish.

Welcome!
The WR list is hard to know exactly  because there is a lot of way to play the game (e.g. using glitch and/or emulators).
The japanese record list (managed by Hirano aka BlastHornet ) is:

About techs, this page is old but good:
http://www.planetnintendo.com/mariokart/mksc/advancedstrategy.html

The only tech missing  is SSMT... you can find some info about in this forum, but none of us is able to manage a SSMT...

Some vids (also old, but very good):

That's because it's only possible with cheats i think...atleast if you're going to do it constantly.

My problem with SSMT is that, when i hold the R button, Toad behaviour is way different from what i see in the videos...
Also it's possible that i do it in the wrong way (i tried to wiggle the directional pad)...
In addiction in any Hirano video i can see some standard MT's really close together... like the time for charging an MT were shorter than usual...

I'm trying understand something about his tech from the forum where Hirano and SM35 talk about MKSC:
http://8503.teacup.com/neka/bbs

There are many messages on SSMT there but my japanese language is near to 0 and i'm unable to fully understand the babelfish translation.
Does anyone knows a service similar to babelfish?

If i understood well, there is a message where Hirano says he plays 10 hours per day!

p.s.
SM35 is the player who discovered the tree ticking tech!

termo have you tried it with the gc controller?  maybe it's similar to how ssmt's can't be done in smk with the normal controller.

Thank you all for the videos, they have really opened up my eyes at how skillful and imaginative you guys are  Shocked

Especially Rainbow Road, I used to think I was good there. I guess not...

I don't know if I will start time-trialing this game. Im really into F-Zero on the SNES right now and I dont want to spoil my progress on that. Maybe some day Ill enter the MKSC arena and take on this blasthornet myself j/k as if.

Thanks, and bye bye. (Hey, maybe all you ex-F-Zero players can come back and we can have a mini tourney, MK vs FZero. Id be up for it thats for sure Cheesy)
