Looking for a good capture card
06/17/05 at 08:15:59

I know it's already mentioned somewhere in that huge posting about time proof and what-not, but it's difficult to search through so I'm hoping someone can help me out.

I got my first expert time last night (yay!). Not that that's saying much, but nevertheless I want to start making proof videos with a capture card. I'm thinking of getting a cheap one from tigerdirect (http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=10...). Will that work? Also, my TV is kinda far from my computer. They have long cables at Radio Shack I can get, right?

you play on the computer with that.  go for it.  you'll need a component audio/stereo adapter for 2 dollars.

the best thing is to get a cheap but good card ATI or something, and a vcr to tape your runs then hook your vcr to your card and record good runs. i tried to play on my computer the other day and it was delayed, i would go to turn and it would turn later on the monitor, so cheap card/vcr is the best combo i think.

Ah, I see. Thank you both for your comments, that should help me. I just don't have the room for two VCRs, but I don't mind using the one I already have and capturing it to the computer.
