Maybe a AvgFin. statistic should be added to the player's site.

Just a suggestion

Hi David,

Yes check out the SMK archives, there are news and POW info back to 2000. I have asked Simon to add in 2006 news from old site to archives. The 2006 pows have been transferred to the awards on new site as you have seen.

Here is a link to archives:

Best Regards,

I have two suggestions to make for the new site.  Smiley

First of all, would it be possible to have the average finish and SR score statistics display three digits after the comma, instead of four? Having four can be interesting for MK64, MKDD and MKDS, but the smallest possible unit in SMK is 0,025 (1/40). This means that the last digit will always show a zero anyway, which can be needlessly ponderous and confusing.

Secondly, is information on the proof status of every player (coming by the mark of a green or yellow tick, or the absence of a tick) serving any utility? I know this feature is directly borrowed from Alex's database, which has been used for MKDD, MKDS and MKSC, but we hardly ever have validation issues or organize proof calls in SMK. Also, when problems arise with individual players, it usually has little to do with how many videos of their PR's he or she has provided. In addition to that, many status, as they appear on the site now, are inconsistent with the player's background. For this reason, I'd personally support the simple withdrawal of this feature from the site.  Smiley In fact, the only thing I can think of that it would bring, is suspicions about certain players, and the division of players into different classes.

Heya, you should switch the PRSR colors around, the people in grey are the ones who lost ground but are now in white and the other way around.

Yeah, I also noticed the zeros thing; good call, Simon.  And I'm still getting used to the whole gain/lose ground thing, so the colors are confusing me for the moment.

But this site is rocking man, great work all around.   You guys are just plain brilliant.

To Sami: in the photo gallery the link to the picture of Armin and Tanja doesn't seem to be working. Maybe you didn't upload it or typed the url wrong?

a few update ago you told in the news that you had a new photo of pierre , but i didnt see it, also a few photos links are dead now , i think about archi's one and a few other , it should be ok to delete them

about the PRSR change numbers highlighted i think you should switch the two forms as its when the player up his PRSR that he is winning something (contrary to the ASR where its when the player reduce his ASR that he wins standard)

but it was when i last checked , maybe you corrected it since then

Is anyone backing up Simon's suggestions?

I've tried to implement Simon's suggestions:

1) 3 decimal place AF/ASR. Only takes a few seconds to do, so I can switch it back if it "looks too weird now".
2) Hid the references to proofs and proof ticks in the AF/PRSR/ASR pages, and profiles. I think those were the only pages that mentioned proof. I didn't delete proof entirely since I may want to reuse some of the SMK features for the other sites, so an updater can still Freeze a player and the database won't accept a Frozen player's times... but all that just goes on behind the scenes. Give me a buzz if I've left some reference to proofs out in the open.
Okay, one such reference is in the join page (http://www.mariokart64.com/smk/join.php), which points the reader to the proof.php page, which describes the various kinds of proofs. It's useful to describe the various kinds of proof, so I should leave that in. Should I just edit that proof page and "hide" all the mentions of proof ticks? People happy with that solution?

Yeah, I think you should leave the proof info page up, so people know what they need to do to prove their times if the time ever comes that they need to do it.  I guess the only thing Simon meant was that showing a status of proof for each karter is a little monotonous.

But nice work all around, I really enjoy using all of the site's new features!

I think we should either sticky the "Make Your Controller Pro-NBT" thread, or add it to the "NBT Description" link on the main site in order for people to know exactly how to mod their controller.

Alex Edit: I stickied it.
