Can somebody explain what's the deal with Takashi Ogasawara joining PAL? Has there been a mistake, or has he really been playing PAL? Something's fishy to me since his NTSC timesheet is so weak by comparison. Has he been living in Europe as of late?
Another Player's Page mystery (to me) is that there are several names in the women's rankings that I don't recognize, but have been part of the SMK Player's Page for years. I don't remember Elsa Kruger, Lina Wieland, or Rachel Dietrich being active back when their timesheet says they were; checking archived news suggests that at least one of them
might have asked to have her name and country changed, possibly to protect her identity. I'm pretty sure I know who Merve Cengiz is/was based on a check of archived news, but none of the others.
Congratulations to Maia Hasso for her recent climb in the women's rankings, by the way. I was wondering if she was ever going to follow in her big sister's footsteps! She's a teenager by now, I believe, or at least very close to it? She's already passed Tanja Brüser, one-time women's champion, and made it look very easy. At the rate she's going, I predict she'll start beating
my PAL times within the next year or so, just like Leyla did. And yes, I can even see her joining her sister in the top 50, and threatening Sophie's spot in the Women AF, if not in 2019 then certainly in 2020. I'm proud of her progress and I'm sure her Uncle Sami is as well!
