Is anyone backing up Simon's suggestions?
I've tried to implement Simon's suggestions:
1) 3 decimal place AF/ASR. Only takes a few seconds to do, so I can switch it back if it "looks too weird now".
2) Hid the references to proofs and proof ticks in the AF/PRSR/ASR pages, and profiles. I think those were the only pages that mentioned proof. I didn't delete proof entirely since I may want to reuse some of the SMK features for the other sites, so an updater can still Freeze a player and the database won't accept a Frozen player's times... but all that just goes on behind the scenes. Give me a buzz if I've left some reference to proofs out in the open.
Okay, one such reference is in the join page (
http://www.mariokart64.com/smk/join.php), which points the reader to the proof.php page, which describes the various kinds of proofs. It's useful to describe the various kinds of proof, so I should leave that in. Should I just edit that proof page and "hide" all the mentions of proof ticks? People happy with that solution?
I think hiding the ticks was a big mistake. How can we expect people to think the site has credibility if they have no way of knowing who has proof and who doesn't?
