If we want to be a real mk communitity, with combined rankings, we just can't leave a game without a ranking page... Someone have to reupdate it, and if nobody else wants to do it, I think I could update the rankings myself (about once every two weeks).
  But before I think we should understand why the older site failed, and try to imrove it, one of the main issue is tree-tricking. This is an unnatural way of driving, that can be fun on some of the easy tracks, but which is just boring and hard on some tracks (or flaps) where you have to do it 3/4 times a lap, in weird places... Also if we want to have our ranking on the combined ranking site, we must have the same policy that the others site, which is to ban every glitch of the main rank: so I think we should make tree-tricking count as SC, and make the "real" charts non tree-tricking (the issue of splitting the older time in two charts is not that big: there are not a lot of people concerned).
    Also, I think it must be made clear that extra tracks are just bonus tracks, and therefore should not be used for the main ranking: 40 tracks is way too much (keep in mind that extra tracks are not adapted for that game: if someone wants to play them, he'd better play smk...).
   Please tell me if you're interested, and add comment or suggestions...

actually, i think the game didn't appeal to enough people, and most tracks were setup with too many shortcuts.

Sure, disallow Treeshrooming, but what  about those few people like me who's whole top 5 is filled with TreeShrooming/Wall Ticking sometimes?

yes, i'm fond of the shortcuts, but i don't think the lap glitches should count for shortcut racing.  they should be an optional separate category like what is done on the smk site.

it won't be too difficult to separate the legal from the illegal shortcuts with a descriptive list.

however, wallboosting is not so difficult once it is learned and can be compared to normal boosting;  you simply have to find your angle to and distance from the wall rather than the dirt.

because we don't have enough players, we shouldn't further divide the categories.  

1)normal racing "normal boosts and shrooms"

2)wall boosting which includes 1)

3)shortcut racing which includes 1) and 2)

4)lakitu lap glitches...not included

5)no boosts or shrooms...not included

6)racing using a gameboy player on the television...players can do SSMTs and play longer areas with better vision.  i wouldn't be surprised if most strong players bought this though.

Well yeh your right  But i'd like to have a rankings without any of these shroom glitches, maybe it's just me though! Will you use all the data from the old page because there's about 50 sets of times there?

you can have two separate lists and a combined ranking.  i don't think this will hurt.

Well I've lost my motivation since there aren't many people playing the game right now...
