Couple things about the NTSC WR page:

Ha Nyan's VL2 5lap vid (with splits) can be found here. I faintly remember him giving us his channel link a while ago, but if you don't remember the name it's near impossible to figure out. You can also find the link to his RR opener WR on his channel, so now we can add those two links + the splits to the WR page. VL2 5lap will probably be improved again in the near future but at least we'll have the vid for now.

Simon's MC3 opener WR can be found here. His channel is also suprisingly elusive.

While we have 3 missing links, we also have 2 dead links. The links to Chris Balch's CI1 and DP3 flaps both lead nowhere, at least for me.

All the other links are good, but I can't be sure that there aren't any other vids floating around in the depths of the interwebs. I've been here for a relatively short time so there's probably stuff I wouldn't remember.

Thanks for NTSC WRs page, I'll fix that for next update.

About MC2, I did a few tests with the speedometer and I'm pretty sure it's not possible to get a faster time with the LB, as you lose time by hitting the wall and the finish line is too close to come back in time.

Of course, you can be attempted by starting next lap with this LB, but in this case it's obviously forbidden, and even more because the LB will only last if you release B, and you're supposed to not release gas to extend the length of the boost (CI2 style).

I think I'll add something in the non-NBT rules (part 1.5) about that.

The times are also still more than a week behind. I seem to remember we used to have all times up to date within a day after Sami did. I guess Pierre is still trying to get caught up. So Andrew Andrea, if any of your newest times beat Stanley Jeram but not me (or you were already ahead of me), I can possibly tie him or get back ahead of him without doing anything  

^Well, I tried refreshing it several times throughout the day of the update but it never showed up. It's good now; it fixed itself either several hours ago or sometime yesterday, I can't remember. It's nice to see 5 of my 13 King times go down, that's for sure!

@Nick, It's not all that simple...because the ranks are based on your Total Score, I would have to do some serious number crunching to find out if my PR helps or hurts you. The data's all there, but because the formula is [(the WR/PR ratio of the PR) + (the average WR/PR ratio of the rank of the PR)] / 2 you'd would have to pluck dozens (hundreds?) of numbers. I may have gotten a 5 on the AP Calculus exam, but that doesn't mean I'm not lazy

The funny thing is that you've already got Jeram beat in both AF and SR score

I just sent in my 2nd Quarter 2014 news update to the address, "kartseven[at]yahoo[dot]fr". Although the very last day of the quarter has not been updated to the charts (can we go ahead and call June 30 the start of the 3rd Quarter, for updating purposes?)

Another way you can write bot-proof e-mail addresses is by adding extra text, e.g. "kartsevenNOBOTS@yahoo.fr"

Do we still need to write quarterly news updates for the Non-NBT site? After the second quarter of 2014, I wrote my update for NTSC, but Guillaume never wrote his for PAL. Nobody else ever said anything about it so neither one of us wrote for the third quarter, apparently nobody else really cares about these news updates anymore. There's been no supply because there hasn't been demand. (There's also the fact that I can no longer access my e-mail to send files from this computer)

Sorry for failing to reply to this message earlier. As a longtime former newswriter for the Non-NBT site I would be disappointed if that aspect of the Non-NBT site would be discontinued.
I always liked it as an opportunity for some colourful news writing (Simon started that tradition to some extent, I always felt him to be an excellent writer). Though Sami has been doing an excellent job with the Players' Site news ever since the first Gulf war, he sometimes lacks a bit of that creative spark to go out of the box a little (or in Clark's case, a lot*). Though I will immediately admit that Sami is more or less forced to adopt that approach, considering he has to do these weekly for a larger number of active players.

Anyway, what I'm trying to say is, I hope you will pick up the glove again and start writing. I for one really enjoyed your first news update from early 2014 and it clearly showed that you can seemlessly follow into the footsteps of Simon & me in terms of style. Godspeed!

*it's really worth it to revisit some of the guest updates that Clark has written many years ago, some comedy gold in there.
