Back in 2001, Kelly Malo and I were passing on the right side of both lakes. That's what we used to call the "right, right" strat. Obviously, I was pretty pretentious back then, so I sent a message to Nicolas Clementy to let him know that he could also mention the "right, right" strategy in his CI1 detailed strategy page. (the page only mentionned a "left-left" strat). However, going on the right side of both lakes might have allowed Kelly and I to reach our first SMK WR (or maybe 2nd for Kelly, I'm not too sure), but I had to admit, when Stanley took the WR into lower 58's and I was stuck at 11"59 for the lap, that going left, left was simply faster and just barely harder, so that's how I started to race. To this day, I believe Kelly is still the player with the "official" fastest right-right strat, with a 58"2x. Leaving the new long boost technique apart, it would be interesting to see how low some of the high ranked players could go with that strat. (I personally believed left-left was around 0"10 faster per lap than a right-right)
As far as Pierre's right-left strat goes, well, I believe it makes it just harder, not really quicker.

(more likely quicker than right-right though) As Drew stated, going on the inside is simply the best alternative.
