The link to the Japanese vids give you emulator vids with I think used tonnes of saved states for every boost, can't be otherwise can it?
If you have seen them, no-one could pull that off without saved states surely? Shocked

The actual WR's on SNES, without saves obviously, are from Mazakazu Goto, but there are no vids of him available as far as we know

But expect the strategies to be roughly the same as in the emulator vids, with less robotic boosting for flaps and without some of the less significant and difficult to pull off straightboosts and consistency for 5 laps.

I'm glad I saved the vids to my computer before the link went dead

A few weeks ago I noticed a couple non-emulator Japanese SMK vids at this site: http://www.geocities.jp/marikaryarounoheya_by_master/MARIOKART64.html

It's the MK64 site of MASTER, a Japanese karter. The SMK vids are in the table at the bottom of the page. I'm not sure who drove the races in the vids. When I first saw them a couple weeks ago, there was only a vid for MC1 and RR. Now there's also a vid for DP1, GV1 (5/5 jump), and BC1.

Also, Toshi, do you know if there are more Japanese SMK videos on the internet? Do you have any videos of your races? It's fun to watch the different techniques that different players use.

edit* I can a few of those emulator videos online, but not many more since I'm running low on webspace. I hope the owner of the vids doesn't mind?

Instead of building a very complicated boosts in the hairpins (that don't even go offroad) they should just hop across the sand the non nbt way, i really think that's faster.

I agree with you.

I would say that the Japanese strat for the second hairpin is much faster than mine, though. In the emulator video it shows the second hairpin being jumped over the non-nbt way, but a boost is released right after that turn, and then they build up another boost to cut through the sand on the last corner. Whereas I jump over the sand on the second hairpin, hold the boost I get from that turn instead of releasing it right away, and then release it at the last corner Undecided

A lot of off-road boosting in that video, eh?!

Probably true yes, but it would be quite hard to do in a non emulator lap. Impossible for me I guess Undecided
