How U Play

I usually play an hour or two at a time, and I like to mix it up a bit too, so I generally don't play a course for more than half an hour at a time. Unfortunately, it's getting harder and harder to pr this way. I almost have to pick one or two courses and stick with it untill I pr, then turn all my attention to another course.
So I'm curious what other ppl do, and if i'm really doomed to the monotonis future I suspect I have comming.

The past days i really feel like playing so it was something like 2/3 hours in a row on the same tracks (LC, PB). A lot of my prs are old, so it is not too difficult to beat them.
But when i'm bored with the game i only play BC sometimes. And i often don't play for several days.

Yeh I'm like Regeffe I only play what i can be bothered to play and if i get bored of it i just usually play LC after. And some time i dont play either for several days. I hardly play Special cup tracks but i play the other randomly.

I stay on a single course for at least a week if not longer and mash it into my brain. I will warm up for about 20 minutes on some other courses but not try to pr, just try to break in the mt's

Yep, I'm kinda like that. I refuse to stop playing my session until I obtain a PR (doesn't matter whether it's by 0.001 or by a second or 2). When I get a PR I always watch a replay
and the majority of the time tend to take a break. I don't want my ranking to drop, a steady climb to the top 50 is my aim (was around 75 a few weeks back IIRC) so I realistically want at least 1 or 2 major improvements every day.

I usuallly pick the 3 or 4 times that are the worst ranked for me, and try to beat them, so that I don't lose touch with any particular course. My goal is to always have all of my times in the top 40. I haven't accomplished this yet but it's important to me to have no weak times that hurt my average finish a lot.

Well I just posted 1 solid PR for me (MB flap) on the yahoo boards so that's a good start to the evening session. A new question, what course do you use (if you need to) to warm-up? I have around 5-10 mins on PB to get those fingers working and then I'm ready for all the courses (well, except RR
)

I'm with Ian and Tanney, I sometimes play tracks for hours at a time to try to get a new PR. I remember one time I played BC for four hours straight trying to get a new PR as I was really overdue, and I almost did several times but I always seemed to hit a fireball on the last lap, and after what was like my 185th time I gave up and smashed my controller so hard it almost broke.

Actually I usually play a round of gp to warm up (no all cup tour though....too long).
And I suppose I do spend a lot of time on the same course sometimes when it's overdue.
Hey, congrats on top 100 Cowman

That's what I do, usually Mirror Star Cup. I tend to focus on one track and when I get bored with it, I change.

I play it when I am in the mood for it, and when I pr, I won't quit till I'm sattidfied enough, like two months ago, on LC, I hate the track, but there was a possibility for going sub 1.18 that day, so I tried and tried for like 2 hours. Normally its bout 1 hour, but since I hate this track, its not easy to get near my best splits (within halve a sec) and I didn't. Time I play depends. When I was fanatic, I was like Tanney, but still spended less time on it. I usually play like 2-3 hours ... when I play

I'm really pissed . I was really motivated to get Titan D ranked, that's quite high but i needed it to at least get hero B rank (of course i wouldn't be able to get Titan D on each track). so i started with LC. I got TD really quickly, expect flap. I switched to PB, it was harder but i managed to get it. Then i spent some times on BP but it completely shattered my motivation, damn track. as a result i bought a new game and i won't play mkdd for a while

I wouldn't say any of of us are "poor" (although there is the odd exception
) In the overall context of things we are pretty much all good MK: DD players, it's just some are better (some a lot better!) than others 8) They are the creme de la creme of the bunch
