All those vids show some crazy stuff... Obviously, all of what was posted so far was emulator material, so it doesn't count as legitimate PRs/WRs, but that still gives a clear idea of what we can expect from them and from everyone who would attempt those techniques from now on.
I haven't gotten a reply from Mitsuyan yet, but it looks like 2 Japanese players started to post at yahoogroups, so it's all good. Unfortunately, we don't have a complete set of 40 PRs from them yet, nor do we have evidence that video proof is ready to be provided if needed, but given how seriously the Japanese site deals with these issues, I feel this shall not be too long to solve.
Other than that, I can't do much but wait and see how it goes, and remain totally shocked. Normally, I should be all worried about how the competition is going to turn out with that kind of (even more) advanced NBT, but since I already was worried from the moment the most basic NBTs invaded the PAL ranking 1½ years ago, and that now, there is the Non-NBT site's shield to protect the kind of driving I enjoy from further NBT invades, I have the viscious satisfaction of attending this SMK revolution more as a spectator than a victim, which I felt I was 1½ years ago. All the used techniques we've seen so far would be prohibited by the current Non-NBT rules, as the "zigzag boost" (similar to a SSMT in MK64 when well done) is already forbidden, just the rules' page hasn't been re-uploaded yet applying that change, as I thought it needed some serious editing before re-uploading. The technique similar to the MKSC tree-tricking used in MC2 would enter in the 1.x section of the current Non-NBT rules' page, which states: "Any technique besides offroad boosts, known or not, that would involve passing through grass, sand or dirt without losing any speed at all are or will be forbidden on the Non-NBT site." I had already experimented a similar technique to theirs in MC2, and so have the French players done in 150cc with a mushroom, but I never expected it to go that far in the time trial mode...

Anyway, as I said, it is hard for me to express really how I feel towards those techniques, as they will be forbidden no matter what in Non-NBT driving, but for those who are more heavy users of NBTs, and who are willing to keep playing with Non-NBT and NBTs mixed, what are your thoughts?
Sami, do you think you could report some of the activity that is going on on here and on the Japanese sites by next week's site's update? We may not have the answers to the many new questions that have arisen yet, but it is clear all of this is going to have a great impact through the SMK online competition community, and I guess the more players we get involved in, the greater our chances are that we pass through it with relative ease, and that we choose the best alternatives for the goodness of the community(ies). (I am not implying what we are living at the moment is a catastrophe, just that it is subject to have great impacts onto the future of our community: we are entering a new era!!!

Geez... my sentences are long, must be the Sunday night syndrome...
