That is good that you are still playing SMK after many years.

All you need to do to enter is to set Time Trial times for every course and lap and email them to supermariokart@yahoogroups.com along with your name (first name and last name), country you are from, and the character you used to drive the times.

Dont forget to email them times to supermariokart@yahoogroups.com, do not post them here because we dont check for times here.

And to Mai: Those times are with boost. Except for my 1:01.35.

Sami's non boost is 1:00.99

Your probably playing NSTC version or on an emulator then.

Cause 1'00"83 is pretty much impossible without boost on PAL SNES (on emulator it should be i guess)


And if you use boost you know it, it means you go through the sand with a little boost, which is obviously not normal driving

i have a pal-m version, here in brasil the games are  pal-m, i play and found the boost, but i dit not use the boost at MC1, yesterday i got 1.00.73 with no sands shortcuts, i saw many replays and the times are good, but many player do not make the second corners with the best speed, you need pass very close of the wall, to do this you need enter in the corner from the midle of the course, and not from the letf, if you do the second corner by this way, you can do 3rd corner more fast then when you make a sand shortcut...

Actually, the 4 Mario Kart players I know (those who come up to my mind right now) who come from South America (3 are Brazilians) are using a NTSC version of the game. Given your MC1 times, you are more likely playing on a NTSC version as well. You can check the button of your controller to make sure. If they are purple, you are playing on a NTSC console, while if they are green, red, yellow and blue you are playing on a PAL console. That, only stands if your controller is a Nintendo official, though.

Tom my knowledge from an old page that was linked off Rene Elsässer's old kart pages, Brazil is under PAL-M tv system, but all the gamers we know from various sites still had NTSC gaming systems.

So it seems that Mai is NTSC by looks of things.
