hey ppl ive just discovered this excellent site.

unfortuantly I dont play smk anymore, I remember last time I played I was so out of touch =( Will set it up in jan at uni tho =)

Ive checked my old tt records and theyre in the top 100 at http://www.geocities.com/TimesSquare/Dome/3346/mc1pal100.htm which is really satisfying! The times have now been wiped from the cartridge but I might work on them again in the new year.

check my times below and tell me what you think (mine are the 'chris's times' I found this on an excell spreedsheet I created in april 1999 Shocked

One question: Do people still play and compete (online tts etc) at smk!?

E-mail all of your records for every course and lap along with your full name, country name, character used and the system you use (PAL or NTSC) to supermariokart@yahoogroups.com

According to your message, there were missing times in places and i wasn't sure which records belonged to who, it looked like the records were played by two different people?

Send an email to yahoogroups and clarify these things and then we can add you as a member to the site.

Yes we still compete for SMK Time Trials after all these years, but make sure you are using a Super Nintendo to set records on Time Trial, not any emulator.

hey sami ive seen the record sites, u are THE MAN!!! well done I feel proud that the world records are set from a UK player!

The blanks are the tracks I didnt like and didnt bother playing!

yes theyre mine (chris) and my bros times (phils)...

Have loadsa uni work to do at the mo but ill sort it all out either over xmas or in the new year and become a member

can i just ask you one question?

I only thought jumping the gap on gv1 was possible on 150 with lots of coins, then I see it done on tt!!! the karter done some wierd kind of skids before the jump (like 3 skids in and out) it looked like he was using it to cain speed!? cant it be done by just going in a straight line? surely ssmt werent about on the smk!!!!???

Be surprised...they were Grin

For a bit, just hold R and move from left to right for bit.
You might get a short boost, but it's VERY hard to do right every time.
But you can even make the jump without getting the boost, that's even harder.
You're name has to be Cetin or Jongerius to make that jump more than once in a race without using boost

Hi,

Yeah, they can be done straight on or with a little boost as Karel mentioned. Straight on is harder to make the jump, but setting up a slide to make a jump is also damn hard, messes up your racing line easily but gives a slightly better chance of making it across the gap. Personally id start with normal head-on jumping.

Anyway, put together a list of times for all courses and fastlaps for both you and your brother and then i can make you both members. You will need all records to calculate your rankings.

Im busy at Uni at the moment too, University of Kent at Canterbury, stuck with some Programming assignment thats due Wednesday (anyone an expert on java?).

Ill be back in London on Friday or Saturday hopefully for christmas holidays.

At uni now though. Ive emailed u. I'll sort out becoming a member in the new year, Ill have to tt race all the tracks I didnt ever race before as I have no times for them at the moment! Well, I was just searching around, cause I just decided to search on google if there are any sites or records on games that i think i'm pretty good at. I've seen a bunch of master vids online for a bunch of old games. I came across this and I have a couple questions about what ya'll do...

What in the world is a PAL and a NTSC? <--- I hope that's the right terminology... If my computer skills help me out, I think that's telling me that there's someway that you can connect your SNES to your computer or by using an emulator or something. I still have my SNES and MarioKart is really the only game that I still play on it. Before I start sending in screenshots, I want them to be legit, so would anyone please answer some of my questions?

Basically whether you're a PAL or NSTC player is determined by the SNES type you use.
Both NSTC and PAL sections of this site don't involve emulators, as they are not allowed on this site.
PAL is the European version of the SNES console, Americans and Japanese have NSTC mostly.
However there are people in Europe who have NSTC systems and vice versa. So just check what system you have to be sure.
NSTC is quicker than PAL and I think even the controlls differ a bit, so that's why they need to be seperated
