It looks like the 1'01"35 and 12"07 are your new NBT PRs for the SMK Players' site, right?  Don't forget to post them at the yahoogroups!

Yep, those are my new prs for Sami's site Smiley
I decided to post them after the update cuz it's getting pretty late.
I thought the times would be Non-NBT though? Smiley

I don't know about that.  If those were zigzag boosts, then no.  If it's something else, elaborate it here and ask Simon about it.

Ok, I do a long powerslide on the first turn to get the boost, then release it right after the second turn on the straight.

I think that's okay for Non-NBT, I think.  I did that a few times before, but my 1'01"53 was done with zero boosts anyway.

Cool. Yeah, I was under the impression that most of the times were done without boosts, including the very nice time you drove Smiley
I was trying out the boost the past couple days, and I guess it stuck with me heh.

Thanks to Chris, Jamie and Martin, here. The crazy playing session we had yesterday night was all I need to get back into some SMK racing again!

NTSC, GV2 5-lap:
1. 1'00"97 - Jamie White
2. 1'01"07 - Simon Laflamme
3. 1'01"08 - Chris Balch
4. 1'01"53 - Hue Le
5. 1'02"20 - Toshi Miura
6. 1'02"53 - Juan Arévalo

NTSC, GV2 F-lap:
1. 12"06 - Jamie White
2. 12"07 - Chris Balch
3. 12"08 - Simon Laflamme
4. 12"15 - Hue Le
5. 12"27 - Juan Arévalo
6. 12"28 - Toshi Miura

Splits: 12"43-12"17-12"15-12"17-12"15

That's crazy... I did this before I actually saw that Chris had gotten a 1'01"08! His laps however are just insane... 12"07, 12"12 and 12"11 in the same race?! Awesome job, there. That would be by far beyond my hopes. Smiley (very best I got these last 2 days is 12"10)

The very end of 3rd lap and beginning of 4th lap in my 5-lap was really really really tight, so I got nervous around the end of 4th lap and screwed it up a little. I guess otherwise, it could have been around ~12"10 or so. Other 5-laps I got tonight were 1'01"10, 1'01"13, 1'01"15 and 1'01"25. 1'00's would be possible, but very hard. I believe Jamie, Chris, Martin, Stanley, and pretty much anyone in NTSC but me uses a boost on the 1st corner. I have never really tested it out seriously myself, but I don't feel like it would fit in naturally by that curve, so no matter if that boost really appears to be faster or not when well executed, I'm pretty sure I'll keep playing without it.

hmm I got to 1'01"10 and 12"09 with no boost abit ago, I might be able to beat my 5lap by a very little bit but I dunno. I couldn't do really good laps with the boost. I did an 11"71 lap without boost too, that's my best lap without boost now.

Nice time Simon Smiley  Once again your first lap is much better than mine. And Pierre, way to go! It seems like you'll have no problem getting high in the rankings on NTSC too.

I'm a little late, but here's a vid of a 12"07 GV2 no-jump lap with a boost after the first corner, to give an idea of the strat I use:

Hey, risking looking like an idiot here, but whats the platform jump? I'm pretty sure I've never taken it. Anyway so far my GV1 times are 1:07:89 and 13:47 fastest lap on PAL.

Cheers

Update

It means SFA but just improved time and its now 1:07:85

Platform jump is simply jumping the platform to take the Shortcut you usually take with a feather in GP.

You're on PAL so it's really going to be harder for you to get it. Patience and perseverance my friend. Or boosts. Whatever you like.  Wink
