Probably more "15. I know I said that this would be pretty low for a first lap but now what seems impossible is quite possible with SMK.

that video helps a lot. i was hopping around all the turns getting inconsistent times. but last night i tried before bed and got 13'42-32-32-31-31, which felt like a good run. i'll try to get 13'10 from that video. i think my fastest first lap is 13'3x actually. oh, you guys aren't boosting at the beginning of the laps for f-laps?

I had a go at this last night and got a 1'07"42 (can't remember the splits exactly but the last lap was 13"52 which let it down loads so definitely beatable), and my lap record is 13"37 (no boost of course). Ended up getting a few lap records with the jump as well but I'll post them on yahoogroups as usual.

Sami, good to hear you're getting back into those crazy MC1 times! I'm still up for a UK meet sometime so I'll be in touch.

I'll have a proper go this weekend and see what I can do, it felt like there was plenty of room for improvement so it would be good to try and push it down towards Sami's times.

actually, i think it's cause of the height of the jump (80% that of ntsc?) making the pal character in the air for a shorter time. i think the characters don't jump forward like in professional long jump, but only jump up, so their chances of making it depend on the speed of the kart and the game's programmed height for a jump. from SeR's data, it's 920/944 for stop speed or 97.45%, so 2.5% would be neglible.
