I think my problems are in the last tracks. The first two are good enough (I'm almost sure about this, even got a ghost at BC), but I think my CI2 can still be improved. Last time was pretty good, but because I got two Mushrooms.
Even with emulator / save states I can't complete that one. At the last part, is it better or not to use the jumps? I used a Mushroom to jump, which gave me two fast rounds.

That would explain why your times are faster but there are mysterious factors that go into your rating. Just keep at it and you will get lucky eventually.

I started today to collect some 3 Star ranks, atm I have:

4/5 Super Circuit Cups 50cc
3/5 Retro Cups 50cc

3/5 Super Circuit Cups 100cc
0/5 Retro Cups 100cc (not played)

5/5 Super Circuit Cups 150cc
0/5 Retro Cups 150cc (not played)

That means I have half of the 3 Star ranks. I noticed that the 50cc Extra Lightning Cup was pretty hard to get... does CI2 mud part count as offroad in the game or does it affect the Star ranking?

Hit a few walls in BC2, little to no offroad in MC3, little offroad in KB1, 2-3 second chunk of offroad in CI2, hit 2-3 CPU Karters all up

Extra Star Cup 50cc - 130 coins
VL1: 1'05"41 29 coins
BC3: 1'45"03 33 coins
MC4: 1'58"63 38 coins
DP3: 1'34"38 30 coins

Numerous offroad and 1 ice block hit in VL1, a few wallhits in BC3, numerous offroad in MC4, little offroad in DP3, hit 2-3 CPU Karters all up

I read through this whole topic and haven't figured out if driving through the water on KB1 the whole course counts as driving outside the track. Can anyone get 3 stars on Extra Lightning while taking the water path across the small island item on all 5 laps? I always drove that path when I played, did over 100 cups, and never got 3 stars.
