Well, ill make a start here..

Pierre has taken my MC4 WRs now, as he has been working to perfect those boosts. As far as boosting goes, it leaves more room on a lot of courses.

Every time can go down a bit, but maybe not by much.

For example, i held my 1'00"99 MC1 (no boost) time as one of my best ever, if not my best. But i know that without boost there was possibility to the 1'00"7x region, maybe faster if i could beat my lap. Anyhow it is 1'00"63 now with the boost used.

The boost doesnt make a big effect on times from the eyes of an Elite karter or below, but to the top ranks it does make a bit of a difference. A lot of karters are happy to drive with normal hopping around and stuff.

As you have spent a lot of time in MKSC Tom, it is basically the same thing here. It is just a matter of who wants to spend that much time to improve that much more.

Id have to say during the past few months, it looked way more like: It is just a matter of who wants to try the new technics to improve much more.

Im actually pretty sure 90-95% of the PAL WRs done with the new technics are still improvable by "much", just like MKSC keep lowering his WRs over and over again.

On the NTSC side, if we dont consider the new technics, the most improvable is truly by FAR GV2 5-lap which definitely needs to get into 59". Cant believe Jamie hasnt crushed that one yet but it will come...  Tongue Also cant believe that in 5-6 hours of playing, I missed my chance to make a 3/5 which would have got me the WR with a decent race(too late yet? Roll Eyes )

New techniques just involve boosting from powrslides, if you play MKSC then it is just like that but a bit slower.

I guess you can say it is the equivalent of MTs in MK64, only that it has been a problem cos we have only really discovered its power in the past 6 months or so.

Sami, you perfectly know im not talking about normal boosts(from powerslides to be used on straights) when I talk about new technics.

Yes i know the boosts we refer to are across grass/sand.

but i mean that they are sort of equivalent to MTs in MK64, cos they can be used to cut bits corners in the same way. Not all of the corners in MK64, but a few places.

Sorry i didnt explain myself well there..

Thats ok Sami. But personally, I really cant compare MTs in MK64 with boosts in SMK. In MK64, your kart speed reacts with the grass/sand, no matter if you used a MT to pass through it or not. In SMK, when boosting, your kart totally freeze and you dont even have to care about control since the kart acts like tree tricking in MKSC, and obviously your not gonna lose any speed by sand or grass if you timed your boost well.

I've only just started attempting these MK world records since I've got all the Burnout 2 GC records now, so dug out the classic! So far I've got 1.01.10 on MC1, but could get 1.00.6/7 if I could only stop panicing on the last lap and messing up  Grin, but I havnt used this boost technique. Very rarely I'd notice my kart seem to go up a gear and high revs, then drop down, is this the boost? I dont know the technique and have never managed to tie it into a TT race, any website I can find to detail it?
