The flap contains an additional waterslide, it's also done in lap 1.

Yo guys, no PR here but probably a really really interesting discovery: when you have played smk on high level, you will know the super hard Island Jump on VL2 which is only useful for flaps and needs to break blocks before. HOWEVER, I did it in mksc aswell, but... WITHOUT BREAKING ANY BLOCKS! It's so incredibly hard to do (1 success in 40 Minutes of trying) but it IS useful for 5laps, as it saves a bunch of time. Sadly I have no video, but I will try it again, this must be recorded!

Believe me, try to learn the waterslide strat. Your shroom is much more useful on the grass after the gap. It's a tricky jump and waterslide, but once you got the hang of it, you can easily reach 1'03 times, even with mediocre driving. I just tried a run without ZZMTs and really sloppy driving and did a 1'02. believe me, this part is important. Watch a vid and try to imitate the strat. If you have questions about it, feel free to ask

Thx Chris! It's Bowser. You think I can go faster with DK? Cuz on RDP1 I felt Bowser to be slightly faster than DK (+ gave me better splits). But maybe it's different on RDP2? What about the flap?

Yes, DK got 2 advantages here: the recovery after the lake jump is quite faster than Bowsers, so you get quicker after the slowdown there. The second thing is that there are more sharp corners here. Andy used DK aswell for his 1'07"00 time, and the flap was a big thing a year ago when we messed around who could be faster. It turned out DK had a better go here, but Bowser is still fine for this (again, check the ranks, Andy got 10"82 with DK, and I did 10"93 with DK and Bowser, so the difference is not too big).
