SMK tracks Non-SC 5-lap total = 19"59"91  8)

with
KB1: 31"88* (6"51?-5"72-6"00?-6"95-6"70!)

Best 1st lap=5"96(1-shroomer), best 2nd-3rd=5"70(1-shroomer) while the last lap of my 5-lap PR is actually my best 0-shroomer. Use an AB spin turn to start the race.

I can never seem to get the Lakitu water trick to work, but even without using it I can get times of less than 8 seconds on KB1.  Smiley Undecided
Also...
XRR:
lap 0:13.85 (On the first lap. With Toad. Seriously!)
5-lap 1:18.?? (don't remember exactly; probably 1:18.26 or 1:18.06 or something) (edit: it's 1:18.61)

DP3:
lap 0:08.?? (again, I don't remember)
5-lap 1:06.67

edit: I just broke the 0:50.00 barrier for 3-lap on BC1. Smiley

later edit: I might post more times later...

I've been playing MKSC rather than the other karts lately, I don't tree trick for the most part.  I'm beginning to love this little portable wonder, there are SO many tracks  Grin

I've tried some MKSC  during the past couple of days and I'm sorta starting to like it. In the past I totally sucked coz I didn't really know how to handle the kart. I didn't use any jumps or slides and I didn't know that there was an MT. My best "achievement" is probably a sub 55 MC1 from the extra tracks. I did that in about 45 minutes.

Maybe I will play some more in the future but probably not seriously. I have a GameBoy Player for my GC so I might try MKSC on that soon Grin

My best on that track is 52,95 without using any Shroom  Roll Eyes
Or 45,18 using Shroom, MT and Wall tick  Tongue
But i played that track for over a month  Lips Sealed

I have a 51"43 no tree shroom time for that course, played for 2/3 days  8)  Simon Laflamme, I could use some help improving my time, I can't go much lower than 50"XX with my current strat/ability.

Hmm... there's not much to be learnt strat-wise in a course like MC1. Other than shrooming through the large field of sand before last turn, powersliding around last turn long enough to get a boost can be pretty benificial. Since the straight way following this turn is short, best thing to do is hold the boost that was gotten all the way past the first corner of the following lap, to release it on the long straight way. It's about the same strat that's used in SMK, but doing it in MKSC is a bit easier.

I think I was getting 10"3x 0-shroomers that way, and maybe 1-shroomers nearly 1 second faster, but I couldn't tell for sure, it's been a while. I know Sami had a high 48" time without tree-tricking, and probably Archibald too, so I still more likely was a little off their best 0-shroomers and 1-shroomers, either way. (I have 49"18)

Isn't Bowser the fastest driver in this game?

I used Peach for my pr coz I liked her handling more. How much will Bowser save in for. eg MC1 compared to Peach?

Puctualization:
When i said my time "without shroom" i intended without use a single shroom like in the original SMK Smiley

About my strat:
-If you have seen my video you can see my strat (http://www.unbelsito.com): it's the obvious strat for a simple track like this.
only a note: i drop an MT jumping on the grass on start line turn, during my non shrooming lap (except the last one).

Another strat (?):
-I used Bowser and i can refine my record gaining 0.40/0.50 not more.
-WR is 1,42 Sec. faster than my time.
-WR holder used Toad.
-So i can think he used a different strat: maybe he can release a MT cutting the large field of sand during his non shrooming laps... but with Bowser is really hard to do and i dont think it saves much time.

I can confirm about these times: my 0-shroomers best lap is 10"37 using Bowser  Tongue
My best 1-shroomers lap (with wall ticking) is 7"78   8)
I dont remember absolutely about 1-shroomers lap without wall ticking.  Angry
Finally, my best first lap is 0.88 slower than my best second lap (using one shroming per lap).

I played a bit yesterday and got a 3"88 on Koopa Beach 1 flap. I think I can still take some time off coz I was a bit wide with the first shroom. This pr came really easy and I broke my old flap by maybe 4 seconds Grin It feels weird that a flap takes so little time coz in MK64 the shortest non-sc flaps are around 30 seconds and the longest is in the 2 minute range.

Btw, I used Toad for this pr. Is he a good choice? I saw that Archi used Bowser for his pr's.

http://www.loops.jp/~neka/

Some times with video (only 2/3 video rotating, so you have to wait for others).

In www.gamefaqs.com forum there is an updated chart of WR's.

at
http://www.planetnintendo.com/mariokart/mksc/movies.html

you can find same videos of neka site (one for each standard circuit) but it's required (free) registration to download them.

What i'm trying to find is a video of Mario Circuit 1 Extra Tracks under 45", because i'm very courious about used strategy.

I made a new PR: KB flap 3"80 (non-sc)

I taped it with my camcorder and you can see the video here:

http://www.geocities.com/tuomasd8/MKSC_KB380.mov

Sorry about the bad quality. My main gaming focus is in MK64 but I sometimes olay MKSC if I'm bored. I'm not gonna start playing actively but maybe I can go for a KB flap WR sometime Grin

I haven't played in almost a year, and my reported progress since the update has vanished.

Today, I played for little over an hour, just to see what I could do. I haven't worked much on Extra, so I tried a few courses.

All Non-SC with D.K.

MC1 F-lap: 07" 05 (2nd)
DP1 F-lap: 10" 39 (2nd)
GV2 5-lap: 54" 50
DP2 F-lap: 13" 55 (1st)

6.80, same link.
Anyone knows a good strat for fast lap?
It seems the WR here is 6,23 but i can gain 0,30 - not more - using my strat.

Are you really using the B button during the boost to turn sharper?
I don't mean for this to sound offensive, but it didn't look like you were.

I used the first shroom where you did (try careering straight into this wall, as opposed to hitting it from the side, for an easier turn.) and the second on the left-hand wall on the turn after your location, then I just use the third mushroom to go straight after clearing the barrier.
I don't know if you can improve using this pattern, just adding mine.

Godspeed.

So it's useful to brake during tree ticking?
Wow, i'll try Smiley

MK:SC RaRo F-lap: 12" 73 (1st)  Peach

Far from smooth. I also had 12" 86 where I missed the last set of arrows.

This is close to my expectations.
Since I won't be able to pass any reported times, I won't attempt to improve it for now.

Did you play like in RR WR video?
I tried up, but i can't go after 4th jump Undecided

Anyway i'm looking for hint to delay a MT.
Easiest way is jumping just before, but what about other ways?

Yes, I do it like that in the beginning, but I can't do the last pass, so I use a shroom to get to the next part. (i.e. I only really bounce twice from the first shroom activation, and use another shroom to go further.)

As for delaying MT's: I've never been good at it, but starting a short slide could help. Try not to slide for as long as you usually. I'm, sure you'll succeed better than me if you experiment.

Good Luck!

LP SC F-lap: 02" 50 (2nd)  Toad

First time I landed this one. I didn't save it, however, as I don't want to attempt the SC 3-lap, (n)or lose motivation trying to beat my Non-SC F-lap record.
