5lap was crap, but just want to beat Lafungo, and same with flap, though instead it's okayish.

5lap eh? If you have trouble holding the MT all the way after the 2nd turn, I recommend you try out Toad. You can still get a decent time with him easily.

Woops, we both made the "5lap" mistake too! Tongue
Thanks for the suggestion, but I could easily cut a second and a bit more with same bowser strat (the time is 48"95 isn't it?), which I reckon would be roughly the same potential with toad, and I'm really bad at driving toad anyway!

Sky Garden:
50"93 #26 (TE) -> 50"15 #25 (TD)
Used a slower approach to the shroom so I could get some speed over the bumper instead of losing some. Got the win back on Nosey, but won't bother with the flap because the shroom is such a pain.

Edit: Last PR before my trip:
Bowser Castle 1:
12"98 #36 (HA) -> 12"84 #25 (TC)
Decent, but I'd like a 12"7x. Titan #21.

.1375 AF cut.

New day, new post.  Roll Eyes

Got some PRs on the plane (that's a first for me).

Peach Circuit:
14"22 #35 (HE) -> 14"20 #34 (HE)
I had no idea what I was doing here, surprised I PR'd at all.

Shy Guy Beach:
50"63 #28 (HE) -> 49"66 #19 (HB)
Splits: 16"68/"58/"40.
This was literally my last run of the flight, they asked to turn off electronics for landing during lap 1, but I decided to continue anyways.  Cheesy Win on Nosey.

Bowser Castle 1:
43"95 #42 (ED) -> 43"43 #26 (EB)
12"84 #25 (TC) -> 12"68 #18 (ME)
Splits: 14"48/"45/"50.
Spent most of my time playing BC1, made up a strat based on last corner shroomspot, no idea if it's good or not. Took me ages to finish a 3lap only to tie Nosey.  Smiley Flap was a pleasant surprise though, got more than I bargained for. Flap is a win on Nosey, Myth #5.

.4125 AF cut, should get me past #26 Michael Vogt.

SGB 48"90, this run came completely out of left field, each lap was my best split, except for lap 1 which was 0"01 off: 16"46, 16"25, 16"19.
I tried BC1 beforehand and could've broken the tie on the 3lap a few times, but eventually lost consistency, and no such luck on flap either. As soon as I start sgb though I was getting great splits straight away Smiley

Although I congratulate you for getting that nice SGB 3lap, I admit that I'm annoyed you got it so quickly.

Shy Guy Beach:
49"66 #19 (HB) -> 49"05 #13 (TE)
13"55 #26 (TD) -> 12"89 #12 (TB)
Splits: 16"45/"25/"35.
This 3lap is tough, as it's really easy to lose time but not that obvious to gain it. Nosey's time is the obvious target, but it'd be nice to cut another couple spots by beating Ryou's 48"83. Best splits are 16"23/"07/"07 = 48"37. Flap is nice, but I'm only "02 away from the Top 10. 3lap is Titan #21. Flap is a win on Nosey and Daniel.

.25 AF cut.

RMC1 46"75! #16
When I was looking at the rankings yesterday, I was thinking that that was my limit, and eventual non-zzmt target, but after getting a 47"10 pr when randomly trying the 5lap once during flap attempts. I was simply aiming for 46"95. This run was completely out of the blue, very surprising and I'm rather happy about it Smiley
Also, was working on flap prior to this, and finally got 7"08, which was also my target Tongue
I was using Mick's 6"92 strat (though obviously not doing it properly ofc), and I kept on getting 7"15 quite a lot, 8 times in fact! Flap is #19, and I've only cut 14 places in total, but I'm pretty close to maxed out in the kingdom of precision driving, which makes me happy.

Nice one! rDP3 takes ages to get the hang of, but next time you come back you should find it really easy to get back up to speed and realise that you can still cut a load of time. Which shroomstrat are you using for the 5lap? Definitely go for GOD on the flap, it's really easy, you just need to put in a few hours until you just get that nice run, which can still be really sloppy and hit the grass a few times and still reach the standard.

I used the shroom for 5-lap where I use my second shroom in the flap. That was the reason, why I needed so much time to make a "clean" 5 lap here^^
My problem is in the non shroomer laps. I canŽt load a mt and release it after the bumper hit, so I lose a lot of time there, but also my shroom laps are a lot slower then the WR run.

Is DK better for the flap? I made mine with Bowser, and yes, I may try this again, I think I lose the most time with my second shroom here.... Cheesy

DK certainly is easier in my opinion for the flap. For that pesky shroom across the water, you can choose from one of two strategies, either the one where you start turning when slightly more to the left of the bridge, then shroom in roughly a straight line to the bumper (done by most if not all but me), or my weird way. This is to stay as tight as possible, and then somehow make my way to the bumper through a series of inputs that I've learnt from hours of attempts, are now muscle memory and I can't really explain :/
For the non-shroomer laps, when you're at the first bridge, start the mt while facing straight and swing around the corner as tight as possible. Once you know the mt is charge, hop and drift once more for the last bit of the turn, now hop straight ahead onto the bridge (be aligned with the bridge), now immediately hop again (so the mt doesn't release) and start another drift to the left, and hold it all the way to the bumper, then just before hitting the bumper, do that tiny countersteer so that you get a nice trajectory in the air. Once you've got this done, it's really rather easy to replicate. I suggest practicing the non-shroomers for a while to get them down, so that you can be close to guaranteed to finish after making the 3 shroomer laps.
Try and read my comments while also watching one of my or someone else's videos, so that you can put the words into some visual context.

Sorry for the 'tl;dr'-inducing essay, but I hope that it helps.

I know the feeling. I improved from 59" to 56" earlier this year, and I stupidly turned off the system before saving it, and I didn't message the time to anyone either, so I have to revisit it at some point Sad Sad Sad

CCI isn't that bad. I sat down and played it for a few hours earlier this year and managed a 49"xx run and was hitting splits for 47"xx in no time after I got the hang of the shroomspot. The only hard part about the shroomless cut is the alignment. The rest is easy enough with a tad bit of practice.

Not too good, I could probably sub 18" but this'll do for now (I'll probably end up beating it between a couple 3lap attempts anyways). Win on Nosey and Daniel.

Been awhile since I PR'ed in this game, but I have been unsuccessful at getting one in SMK lately.

CL - 50"33 (17"41 / 16"42 / 16"50)
Non-ZZMT

Great double jumps in all three laps, the tightness of the drift beforehand is surprisingly important as well as the timing of the MT release which can make you come up short or overshoot the second jump pad.

Only gains one place (and one standard) but at last I've gotten a PR in something other than SMK, for the first time in at least a year.

I was having trouble with my DS's R button until I shimmed it a bit with a knife blade. (My second DS, at that) This might be only a temporary fix; I still want to get a cheap GBA I can mod for ZZMT, something I've put off for way too long. I'm also getting another copy of MKDS, whether I can really afford one or not. Got fed up with it either not loading, or chucking my save data. So I chucked it.  Grin
I've had lots of problems with my handheld games like this, I think I'm letting too much dust and stuff get into them! I've already replaced my SML2 once, and Zelda: Link's Awakening twice. My Kirby 2 and DK Land 100% files have bought the farm (even if the games haven't... yet), so I imagine it's a matter of "when" something like this will happen on my MKSC too. Just more incentive to go all-out and make the switch to ZZMT...  Smiley

RMC1- 48"13

Good for an Expert A standard maybe, but no place gains.

ZZMT would make this so much easier, but I'll see what I can do without it first. I have potential for 47"xx as long as my R button doesn't keep failing. I have to keep leveraging it to make it respond correctly...

EDIT: 47"95

Still not optimal for me but it's Hero E at last.  Cool
Also gains a few places...

Wat. Nice one Nosey! Now I really need to get another Non-ZZMT WR...

Riverside Park:
1'05"66 #29 (EC) -> 1'02"30 #16 (TE)
18"49 #18 (HB) -> 17"98 #13 (TC)
Splits: 20"66/"87/"77.
3lap still needs improvement. I've been using different approaches to the river jump and I haven't yet finished a run with the best one. Best splits are 20"31*3 = 1'00"93, and that opener had a good amount of slowdown on the corner after the river. Glad I got the flap sub, don't need to worry about that anymore. 3lap is a win on Nosey and Daniel, both are Titans #22 and #23.

.225 AF cut (.3875 total on RP).
