Title: Had an idea about 50Hz vs 60Hz solution?
Post by Stephen De Winter on 05/09/22 at 09:50:01

For those who play 60Hz who don't want to be compared with 50Hz competitors, perhaps a system in the database for this MKDD!!PP could be implemented where 60Hz competitors have the right to be taken out of the combined/AnyHz rankings and only compete against '60Hz mode only' competitors if that's what they wish.

I don't understand why anyone would want this personally but respect 60Hz competitors not wanting to be compared with 50Hz competitors.

Us 50Hz competitors do have a moderate to small advantage and the best of the best have 'HUGE' advantage or disadvantage depending on which Hz they play or have access to only 60Hz in many cases which is disadvantaged for competition.

I think this is a great suggestion:)

I think leave everything as is on MKDD!!PP and give 60Hz only competitors the right to NOT appear in combined/AnyHz rankings if they only want to compete with 60Hzers only.

Personally, I think the site is AWESOME as is but out of respect for 60Hzers, I offer this suggestion to the community.

I don't have anything else to add on the topic so unless people speak to me about it, I'll try to drop it now, forever:)

If this happens, I suggest the 60Hzers still get awarded points in 'All Karts Combined' for their 60Hz only PRs:)

I realised this idea might mess up the MKDD!! score for AF in All Karts Combined.

If this idea of mine was used, perhaps one's score from MKDD!! AF would be based on their 60Hz AF.

Another idea, their MKDD!! AF score for All Karts Combined could be based off their best Hz AF score. So people who play 50Hz only get AF based off their performance against only 50Hz competitors which would give them their All Karts Combined point score for MKDD!!PP. 60Hz only competitors would be awarded points for their 60Hz AF based on how well they fare against 60Hz only competitors. If someone has both 50Hz and 60Hz timesheets with or without a overall/any Hz timesheet, they'd be awarded points for their AF based on which Hz they played better in.

For me at the moment, I am around the top 29% of the 60Hz world rankings in MKDD!! and almost top 37% of the world rankings in 50Hz MKDD!! both in AF score. In my example, I'd be awarded points for being around the top 29% in AF because my 60Hz AF is stronger than my 50Hz AF.

If my idea gets carried out, I suggest, which ever Hz has a better AF for that competitor gets used in their All Karts Combined score for MKDD!! and never their Combined/AnyHz AF anymore. Either 50Hz or 60Hz AF in All Karts Combined should be used to calculate that competitor's score of points for MKDD!!PP in All Karts Combined.
