Playing on CTGP should not automatically be considered legitimate, and players moving away from CTGP should not automatically be cast with suspicion.

CTGP is a lot harder to cheat on, but lately, we’ve seen several breaches on security, and any “fixes” have been simply band-aid fixes at best. I am surprised at the lack of discussion on this as we’ve had cheated times uploaded on CTGP twice now over the past year and a half. These however were all blatantly cheated and desynced on other people’s consoles. It is entirely possible to cheat a legit-looking run on CTGP and I’d be surprised if it doesn't happen soon based on how many people have been getting in recently. I have spoken to both Star and Palapeli (scruffy) who have both broken into CTGP on their own to confirm this. If you’d like further proof you may contact Palapeli#3406 on discord.

Apart from actual cheating, it will always be possible to simply hook up an Arduino/RasperryPi to stream a pre-programmed set of inputs into a controller port on an uncompromised copy of CTGP to get an “uncheated” run set on CTGP.

Aside from this, I don't think people switching off of CTGP is very suspicious these days as long as the player live streams their attempts. I feel like CTGP has been degrading recently, with load times between restarts getting insanely long, and the game not even being able to maintain 60fps anymore due to all the bloat that comes along with the mod.

You've been able to use a turbo controller from the very beginning. CTGP has never been, and never will be cheatproof

CTGP is not a required proof to be on this site, nor do we believe that it is "uncheatable." People have breached the system before, and have had times on CTGP but just did not upload the ghost. As much as CTGP is not as great as it could be for cheat prevention, it is the easiest and best way we have to tell that someone is cheating. It is not a 100% failsafe, but for 99% of the player base, it works at telling who is and who is not cheating.
