Title: Nocky and Bom Post by Mgat on 06/03/20 at 07:34:01 Hello everyone, long time no see. Anyway, i wanted to bring up something. With the way things have been going recently, i think we should draw our attention to Bom's BC WR of 2:10.443 and Nocky's WR on rMR of 1:41.624. Both of these times may be great in the eyes of many, but my main issue is the fact that we currently have NO ghost data to analyze for either run, with the latter being set AFTER CTGP became a thing. What do you guys think we should do about this? |

Title: Re: Nocky and Bom Post by Aaron☆M on 06/03/20 at 07:46:15 Nocky's run was proven to be set on ctgp iirc. As for Bom we can see he has track history in the top 5 shown in his video. We already count plenty of japenese players like Mao, pawn, [ch12415][ch12389][ch12362], sugahiro, chikuten, and many more that don't have ghost data for. This community needs to get over this "guilty until proven innocent" mentality for players that don't have much contact with the rest of the community. |

Title: Re: Nocky and Bom Post by Master Kek on 06/03/20 at 07:55:38 I knew Nocky's time was suspicious from day 1. Stick him in pending Keep Bom for now because his case is pre-CTGP |

Title: Re: Nocky and Bom Post by Aaron M on 06/03/20 at 07:57:59 Neither Nocky or Bom have runs that are so over the top insane like black's DDR. Neither run gets insane qm luck like suiryu's CM. If we delete these times we have to delete half of the Japenese top 10 just because of lack of ghost data. Also nocky is a trusted player with impressive times on other tracks like rMC and mc3 that do have ghosts |

This. I feel like people like to look at Japanese players and the lack of ghosts/proof and make all sorts of accusations, but don't really take into account the difference in culture. Heres a snippet of a conversation I remember taking place in the old SMK discord: Quote:
While the topic of the conversation was a little different. I think the point I'm trying to make is pretty clear. |

Title: Re: Nocky and Bom Post by Arvo57 on 06/03/20 at 08:17:28 Both times are realistic, have video evidence and the players are trusted. Nocky's run was maybe a little sus since CTGP was a thing, however the community didn't require it at that point and you can't blame him for not using it. Nocky has proven himself to be a top-level mach player (rMC run with a ghost) Bom has proven himself to be a top-level mach player (rDKM run with a ghost) Neither of the runs broke any rules and were accepted by the community, retroactively removing them is a slippery slope, and as Aaron said, we'd pretty much have to remove the entire Japanese top 10's for a lack of proof. The proof standards and reception of the time the run was set should decide whether or not we count the run. Both runs should remain imo. |

Title: Re: Nocky and Bom Post by James on 06/05/20 at 02:16:33 CTGP leaderboards didn’t exist at the time of bom’s run and many times have been accepted with less proof. For Nocky, he has runs with ghosts like MC3 and DKJP which prove he is good at Mach bike. I see no reason to remove either player’s times |

Title: Re: Nocky and Bom Post by ZedR on 06/06/20 at 06:53:48 I had Nocky's ghost back in the day on skype (I think Nolia/Apollo sent it to me) Ask him if he still got the ghost data. The ghost exists somewhere |
