Title: Is there an easy way to get wiimmfi on the PC?
Post by ChippyT on 03/28/20 at 10:43:00

I hate having to plug in my Wii and mess around with the sensor bar, just so I can play a race or two. I use my PC for most of my "speedruns" (using dolphin, of course), and even though it is a frame-y laggy mess some of the time, I find myself enjoying the PC more since it is easier to use.

I was wondering if there was any way to get wiimmfi working on the PC. A lot of the methods I see on youtube are either too complex or just don't work.

I would imagine that they have probably banned all forms of PC play from the wiimmfi servers, as it would probably cause them more hassle and console players annoyance. due to cheating and hacking.

You need an actual NAND from an actual, physical Wii

I have 2 wii's, 3 if you count the wii mini. How would I go around extracting this NAND?

As Kek said, you need the NAND from your console.

Install Bootmii on your Wii, launch it, dump the NAND to the SD. It will come in a file called nand.bin. Don't worry about the other files that are produced on the SD.

Put the nand.bin anywhere on your PC. Launch Dolphin.

At the top, there is a tab called Tools. Click Tools. Then click the option - 'Import Bootmii NAND Backup...'

Browse your computer and select your nand.bin file. Once the nand import has completed (should only take a split second), click the Tools tab again. This time, click the option - 'Extract Certificates from NAND'. This should also only take a split second to complete.

Launch a Wiimmfi-patched WBFS/ISO and connect to Wiimmfi. You will get halted with the 7 day wait Error Code (23899). It's normal. If you can't connect online (got a Internet connection related Error Code), launch the System Menu on Dolphin and make a new Direct Connection in the Wii Menu Internet Settings.

Dude, you know Dolphin is banned for basically all MKW speedruns right? [smiley=lolk.gif] [smiley=roll.gif]

Thats why I put speedrun in quotes, there more like personal records but I'm still playing the game as if it were a speedrun.

Thanks! I will do it tomorrow because it's late in England.
