Title: Re: Anyone else having this issue? Post by hahaae on 02/16/20 at 12:56:29 Your disc drive is about to die. You can either replace it (hard way) or buy a new Wii (easy way). |

It seems like your disc is damaged. You're likely gonna need to get a new one. Good thing those things are cheap. |

Title: Re: Anyone else having this issue? Post by ZedR on 02/17/20 at 16:45:08 Hmm, had the same thing before i got CTGP. It always used to crash and when I play vanilla MKW on my first licence and played rGV2, it ALWAYS crashed after a finished run. It has been fixed magically when i started MKW through CTGP tho. Just my experience but maybe you're getting similar results. Good Luck :P |

Title: Re: Anyone else having this issue? Post by Vega on 02/17/20 at 17:02:32 Hardware and flash degrade over time. The Wii's file system runs on flash NAND. Blocks can degrade over time. A NAND re-flash/re-inject can fix that. But eventually over an extremely long period of time, the degradation can be irreversible. Various hardware pieces other than the disc drive can degrade. The bluetooth module, AV module, WIfi Antennas etc. Or hell your SEEPROM can even degrade. If that goes your Wii won't even complete the 3 stage boot process and it's impossible to recover. Granted the SEEPROM is rated for 100 years or 1,000,000 writes. Not an issue for average users any time soon. :P |
