Title: Player Of the Year 2019 - Results Post by Kleenex on 01/11/20 at 14:10:22 These four players impressed us the most. But only one of them will get the title. Who will you choose? TAKmk (http://www.mariokart64.com/mk7/profile.php?pid=571) #2 [ch10132] #1 (-1.5937 AF) That's right, someone has finally put an end to Weisse's reign as the number 1 player. TAK reached the top spot in April and kept improving afterward, now having a comfortable 1.2 AF lead over our former champion. He managed to do that by setting 13 no glitch God times throughout the year (a record) and even more top 10's. While he has been more discreet during the last third of the year, he managed to return in full force at the very end by beating the rCM SR, reclaiming the rBC1 WR, and improving his SGB to a WW top 10 time, thus finishing the year with 29 out of 32 no glitch WW top 10's, the most out of any player! He also tied the DKJ G WR at one point, and won the rMG WR battle against Shine.
Nt Roa (http://www.mariokart64.com/mk7/profile.php?pid=591) #4 [ch10132] #3 (-6.0000 AF) 2019 was a great year for Roa aswell. While it may look like he "just" climbed up one spot, he did much more than that. He considerably reduced the huge gap between the top 2 and him by HALVING his AF score, an incredible feat at his rank. Over the course of the year, Roa set 10 no glitch Gods, and all of his new times are top 10's, except for his SGB which sadly got kicked on December 31st. However, his biggest accomplishments were probably crushing the MW WR as well as beating what was the longest lasting WR back then, rKC, and making it even stronger by pushing it to what was arguably the toughest God standard. He also held the rKC G SR and was .009 away from the PPS WR at some point. Overall, Roa definitely cemented himself as one of the very best all around players in the world, with his weakest time being ranked #13, which is better than any other player’s weakest time on the AF rankings. (shoutouts to Ridley)
Thomas S. (http://www.mariokart64.com/mk7/profile.php?pid=430) #3 [ch10132] #4 (-3.0312 AF) At first glance, one might wonder why Thomas is among the nominees when he actually dropped down the charts. However, his focus wasn't on cutting AF but rather on beating site records, as shown by the fact that each time he set was a new SR except for rKD, RR and SGB which were still top 5's. Like TAK, he may not have been very active during the second half of the year, but he still did great overall. So great, in fact, that he got 28 WRs across 11 different tracks! He started off the year by being the first person to sub 2 minutes on rKC, thanks to a new glitch he discovered. Some of his other notable accomplishments were getting the first glitch WR on WS while also beating Jacob's BC, thus stopping the longest WR reign ever. But Thomas reached his peak in August when he got the first minute sub in the entire game’s history on rDC G using another glitch he discovered, showing how innovative he is, and tying [ch12381][ch12358][ch12417][ch12435]'s record in the process by holding 11 WRs at the same time, although he lost most of them later.
EndoMK (http://www.mariokart64.com/mk7/profile.php?pid=637) Unranked [ch10132] #7 One of the biggest revelations of 2019, Endo has clearly been among the most active players of 2019, improving his whole timesheet throughout the year by submitting up to 10 (!!!) PRs a week. He started off unranked but filled his timesheet in March, being ranked #58 at the time. He was then able to make huge leaps on the AF charts, cutting around 47 AF during the rest of the year and collecting many awards as well. But Endo isn't just a chart climber. He also achieved WRs on 5 different tracks (DKJ G, rMT, rMT G, rDDJ G and rRR), notably achieving the first rRR God with a time of 1:12.749, as well as the first 2:13 rMT, 1:46 rMT G and 1:45 rMT G on the PP. We've also seen him land multiple BKFs. He finishes the year at an incredible #7 position, among the top 10 legends, and with 3 WRs in his pocket.
The poll will end on January 18th and the results will stay hidden until then. Thank you for voting! |
