Title: Baby Park flap Post by Zaxxa on 12/26/19 at 10:52:21 I really hate this category. I have a 9'067" and I want to get a sub-9. Whenever I try the stupid SWB tactic, I get anywhere from 9.3 to 9.8 for laps. It seems when I just use the mushroom really early I get below 9.2. Anything I am missing? Oh, and while I am at it, why can't I do R-tech? Is it because I play MKDD on a Wii? Sincerely, Gabe |

To put it plainly: the sideways strategy is not for you at all just yet. You're just starting out lol For now just focus on spacing and going tightly through the corners, and not going wide on the straights. Mkdd on wii doesn't change anything compared to playing on gc, so no, it's not some kind of hardware problem. You shouldn't attempt R-tech until you have a 2:01 WC or something like that, as it's not really worth the inconsistency beforehand. |

Title: Re: Baby Park flap Post by basebalkid on 12/26/19 at 21:48:30 My answer won't be much different from Goomba. Pretty much you are trying tech skill that is way beyond your level. L tech is all you need for BP flap atm. |

Title: Re: Baby Park flap Post by Harvey Kartel on 12/26/19 at 21:57:01 Easiest way to get a sub-9" flap: -Release a right-facing MT on the start line. Then perform another right-facing MT. -Shroomslide around the first turn but do not MT out of this slide, instead do a left-facing MT as the shroom wears off. You should be against the inner barrier as you come around the turn. -Do a right-facing MT. Angle your kart slightly outward away from the inner barrier to prepare the next step. -Shroomslide around the second turn. Again, don't release a right-facing MT out of this slide, instead do a left-facing one. As before, you should come out of the shroomslide tight against the inner barrier. -Quickly do a right-facing MT. We call this the 6-MT strat. Practice this enough and you can even make your first Hero standard even if you're still struggling to make Experts elsewhere in the game. My PR with this method is 8"779. Of course you're going to need more advanced strats (such as 8-MT) to get to Titan and beyond but this is one Hero that everybody should be able to reach with enough practice. If you are less experienced with MKDD though you might be satisfied with just breaking the 8"9 mini-barrier or getting to Expert A. It's definitely not hard to rank high (relative to your average ranks) here if you work hard enough at it. Just ask a Wino (http://mariokart64.com/mkdd/profile.php?pid=1674). :D |
