Hello!

So hooked up my old snes and started Mario Kart WooHoo!

I wasn't surprised that my progress had been erased as thats exactly what i remeber happening in the past.

What was surprising, was that my time trial records were saved! Wierd that my ghost, my progress in the cc circuts were all erased but not the actual times.

Does anyone know why?

Hello, and welcome.

SMK has a battery built in the cartridge for saves. I think as the battery starts getting old and losing charge (being nearly 30 years old) it doesnt work as well and bits can start being erased. Ive had half of my TT records deleted once, its just something that happens with old games. Be happy that anything has remained at all!

Yeah I am, was just wondering is all. At least all I have to do is beat the first 3 circuts in 100 cc to play the special courses in time trial ^^

You can unlock Special Cup in Time Trial (or Match Race) by going to the track selection menu and inputting LRLRLLRRA. You'll have to do this every time you enter the mode, but any times you set will remain.

oh gosh lol. thank you! that will help. although i did have fun unlocking special course last night. in the future, this is how ill recover my time trials
