Title: The Hunt for Harvey (The Oracle of GP MS)
Post by Eric Kart-man on 05/24/19 at 19:06:26

I'm a little late starting this thread as my son Addison was assaulting the lap top as I was trying to do this write up so I gave up.  The night before I stayed at the Kartel headquarters in Monroe, me being use to white noise while trying to sleep, and the excitement overwhelmed me, I MAY have got an hour of sleep the night before.
As we hit the road it all started feeling that much more real, we were on our way to meet Nick Harvey!
The drive was very pleasant overall, we got into a small strip of road construction somewhere around Jackson MS, but it was short lived.
As we were within an hour of our destination, Andrew informed us he was about to make first contact!
He made a very long trip from St Louis to be a part of this historic meeting, and he did not have a single regret!

A little later, we finally arrived. Nick came out to greet us in the front yard, it was surreal!
I never thought I would shake the hand of NH, as he welcomed us into his home.
Nick introduced us to his parents, who were very nice, and welcoming.  Matt presented the ASMKC signed poster,  and some CDM posters, while I presented Nick with some SNES pads, (I forgot the Trump coin)  :-[

Nick asked if we wanted some tea, there was not a chance in hell Matt, and I were not going to try Nick's tea.  It was iced sweet chi tea, a bit sweet for my taste, as I usually drink hot earl grey, or green tea, but no regrets!

Nick went on to solve a crossword puzzle very fast, (under 15 minutes) and signed it when he was done, which will be on the prize table this year at CDM!

After a while Nick showed us around his room, and we jumped on some time trials, I was impressed how Nick could jump back and forth from NTSC to PAL, and race so consistently!

I jumped on CI2 and it was an absolute train wreck, I foolishly left my pad behind, that did not help matters.  We all took our turns jumping around when Nick's father informed us he was ready to take us to the casino!

I'm going to stop here as Addison is showing out, and Heather is out with some friends tonight getting a rare break, I will continue the rest later tonight, or tomorrow. I'm also an idiot and can't seem to remember how to post pics directly on the forums so I'll post the link to my twitter link -  https://twitter.com/Eric_Olden

Our April 28 meeting pics are finally available online! Huge thanks to Eric!!  [smiley=beer.gif]

Folks, please click that link and go to Eric's Twitter page, these are the pics we've been waiting nearly four weeks to see!

P.S. For those of you who didn't go to Monroe this past March, and don't know who we look like, from left to right we are: Matt, Kyle, Eric, me, and Andrew. Louisianans on the left, Mississippians on the right, just like on the map of the U.S.  :D
The height difference between me and Mr. Koltz is rather striking...  ::)
(I'm no more than 5'8" by the way-- if you've known me on this forum for a while, I've mentioned time and time before that I'm not very tall at all-- Koltz told me he was 6'4", having grown two more inches since the last time he told us how tall he was...)

...Oh, and it sounds to me like Addy needs a good spankin'.  :P

I like Harvey's style. Shorts and sandals. I'm that kind of man.
Congrats to the Kartel for making this happen. Also big thanks to Harvey for welcoming then to his house. HH was a success. Now on to FF.
