ScouB coined them HopBoosts, I wanted to label them AirBoosts actually. But he was there first. ;D

Does this deserve a new topic? I guess so, as it could revolutionize (top level) SMK just like FlatBoosts did when we found those back in the day. Like alternating left and right directions, the boost build meter does not reset when you alternate R & L buttons (so it charges on while airborne!).

They've been around for long, I remember Kartie already detailed them over 10 years ago, but somehow the information didn't really click for me at the time. Until ScouB brought it up again last week. We speculate that this is how Alencar got the crazy ending in his legendary 10"90 MC1 flap. In fact that's the only remaining explanation left for it as far as I can tell. :D

Anyway, I did one on GV1 last corner today that was unmistakable.

KartSeven dubbed them jump boosts in 2010, so perhaps we should respect that name instead.

One thing is of somewhat immediate concern....do you think these will end up making the game worse? Imagine having to charge HBs during island-jumps on VL2 or weedcuts on KB2... [smiley=dead.gif]
