Welcome to the first official match phase of the Karter Contest: the GROUP PHASE!!!!!

Here, 16 groups of 5 contestants will attempt to grab a spot in the 64-player bracket stage, over the next few days!!!

In these matches, you will be able to vote for up to 3 players at once! Note that attempting to vote for 4 or 5 players will result in ALL your picks being voided (as well as me publicly shaming you and maybe a penalty on a couple subsequent votes), so don't try anything stupid!!!

The Top 3 of each group goes through!

Here is the schedule for the upcoming group matches, and who will be competing in those :

But, first!!!!!

Before the group phase kicks off, we need to have a few play-in rounds (For GETTING INTO THE GROUP PHASE)! These will last 24 hours, from 12:00 UTC 05/29 to 12:00 UTC 05/30, and will in one fell swoop determine who of the 53 players who got less than 1.5 nomination points shall proceed to the group phase! Not to worry, as this Qualifying Round will last only one day!! Here's how they will be set up:

> 6 players to a poll across 8 polls, except the 9th which will contain our 3 0.5-nom-recipients
> Top ONE player goes through
> Multiple-voting IS allowed BUT you must NOT vote all 6 or your result will be voided and I'll ban you from voting in the subsequent two group-phase matches!!! (Yes I'm really not tolerating it if you vote for everyone in a poll here!)
> All polls will be held simultaneously so as to allow the group-phase matches to get under way soon!!!
> Qualifying matches are seeded according to most recent KC performance! Specifically, there are two layers of priorities:
- Finishing position in most recent KC
- What KC was most recent for x contestant (eg someone who finished 8th in 2014 but didn't appear in 2016 will seed lower here than someone who made it to groups only in 2016)

Further details will be posted here as needed/remembered/obtained!

I'm here with some information straight out of the weatherton and Dr_blueberry campaign offices.

weatherton reports that his first name is actually Drew and the alias Bill is not as widely recognized.

Dr_blueberry just wants to let everyone know that the spelling `Hakonsen` on his various Kart Game Profiles is actually correct. The alternative `Hankosen` is mostly unknown but you don't need to re-print the advertising materials, just scratch it out and write in the correct bits like this `Ha_nkoⁿsen`
