Oh oh, a noob needs help! :D

Unlock Special Cup on Time Trial and 2P Match Race

Go to Time Trial or 2P Match Race, put the cursor on Mushroom Cup and press: L,R,L,R,L,L,R,R,A. If you haven't unlocked Special Cup already, it'll be available now. (gamefaqs.gamespot.com)

At least you can test and play it :)

I miss that game so much. I've recently heard you have to pay 1.49 € every fucking month to play it on Windows 10.

If I were RVZ I'd at least beat the 100cc GPs so I wouldn't have to enter that code every time I turned the game on. The code's effect only lasts until you turn the game off, unless you've unlocked the Special Cup the normal way.

And if you're not good enough to beat the GPs in 100cc, I doubt you'll get very far up the Time Trial ladder. If you're a beginner don't use the heavy characters just yet. When I first started out I used the Koopa Troopa and was able to beat the 150cc Special Cup with him. He has the worst top speed in the game, along with Toad, but the best handling and acceleration, making lightweight characters much more forgiving on the tougher tracks like BC3, DP3, or RR. Even top players still use the lightweights in Battle Mode. Only switch to Bowser/DK Jr. when you are good enough to complete every track with them at top speed without crashing or running off the road. You'll probably want to try them on a simple, wide-open track like MC1 or GV1 first.

You'll never stop milking that 1 victory do you ;D

EDIT: I would pay serious money for this game to ever play it again so I can beat Ur ass aswell as Honko's for old times sake

On topic:

I'm struggling with 100cc CPU's. Imagine what 150cc does to me.

Are TT's played on 150cc speed? If you unlocked it? Seems I lose way more speed off track then you guys.

Scrolled to entire board but couldnt find what I was looking for. I was too afraid to ask this but fuck it. Noob needs help

Time Trial runs at the speed of Grand Prix 100cc (or Match Race) with zero coin. Same as Battle Mode.

That's because we all cheat and boost across the offroad parts to not lose speed

About that, I should read the boosting thread more carefully :D

You don't need to, actually I highly recommend not paying too much attention to the boosting techniques as long as you don't master the basic driving skills enough.

That is a very interesting point of view Antistar, because at your scale.., are you ready to master the basic driving --on the Non-NBT site-- too? ;D

Nope, I never considered going for #1 there, so I will never.

I know, but it's sad, because it's where you were the best (@RR PAL Non-NBT), just before going to work for the evil force behind the NBT ;D

Title: Re: SMK is nice and all...

I don't feel any interest in going for hours and hours of efforts put into a record that (almost) means nothing to me, unfortunately. This is why I only played seriously non-NBT on tracks where NBT doesn't give any big advantage (just like GV3, VL2 and RR).

Well Im not thinking about submitting a full TT sheet anyway. Only tracks I play are MC1, GV1, MC2, GV2 and the BC's. Rest of the tracks are all utter shite, esp Donute Pl. Cant get anywhere without NBT on those.

You don't have to care about NBT at the moment, those tracks can be enjoyed without it you know!

[rvzisanoob]How do I watch replays from live driven point of view? Most of the time it goes all around.[/rvzisanoob]

Title: Re: SMK is nice and all...
Post by KVD on 06/21/18 at 13:11:27

Sadly you need to hit an obstacle for that during your race. Though on Ghost Valleys you get it for free if you perform platform-jumps, as the game often detects a crash (for 1 frame) when you make it.

Anyway, lack of fixed replays is why I have eventually decided to live record all my sessions.
