Some people say he doesn’t proof enough, others even dare to doubt his legitimacy. So instead of having endless discussions about what to believe, Martijn and I looked up all the proofs of his nonglitch timesheet. So everyone can see better now what they are talking about. And this way we also try to encourage Yacine to make more videos. We have added colours to the timesheet. -Red means no proof. -Yellow means picture proof. Picture proof has low value these days because it is possible to fake times by using hacks or by photoshopping pictures. -Green means video proof. A video showing the entire run is considered as strong proof. There are some extra conclusions below his timesheet. But rLM NG 33:888 lap 2 is a very good best known split. -Yacine doesn’t make enough videos for such an amazing timesheet. -For TC, DKJ, BC, rLR, rMG, rKTB, rCM, rDDJ: We find the proof for these tracks satisfying because next to the picture proof, he has enough videoproof showing his potential (previous PR’s and/or laps). If he will not provide anymore proof, I will suggest to remove him from the PP and remove most of his top 10 times, or at least those that only had picture proof. I’m not sure what we should do with his world records, because I tend to believe that they are legit. I can not proof that he he has faked some of his times, but I can explain to you why I think that he has been lying about some of his times to me. I think the commotion around Yacine started when someone pointed out that on the picture of his DH PR, the end time on the top screen was not highlighted in red, but in yellow. This means that his 3DS has a faster ghost, and that the ghost of this PR wasn’t saved to his system. Well that DH PR was a WW top 10 time, and he didn’t even had a ghost from it, he only had a picture. And a picture can be faked. I wanted to confront him with this and I did so by asking proof of 3 PR’s. More specifically, I asked him to race against the ghosts from those PR’s. https://i.imgur.com/j5p1fPu.png He immediately suggested to give me other things; He wanted to give me a rCM video, he wanted to do live runs, he wanted to PR again on those tracks. I said, I don’t really need that, I want the ghosts of those PR’s. I can tell you already that he never gave me anything of those 3 ghosts, and I will explain to you why I think that he has been lying to me about all 3 of them. He ended up by trying to avoid me. These are the three PR’s with my explanation: Daisy Hills 1'38"165 ,set on 2018-03-06 I deliberately asked for Daisy Hills, because I knew he didn’t have that ghost. Because the end time on the picture was yellow. And eventually he admitted it. He said he didn’t have the ghost because he has a faster time on Yoshi Falls. Yoshi Falls is a custom track that replaces Daisy Hills and that would overwrite its ghost when you achieve a faster time on it. That information is correct. But there was once a debate about his DH, and my attention was drawn then by some people saying that it might be a custom track, or it might also be a faster time he has on DH. And when I talked to these people, one of them told me that Yacine was hoarding the DH WR since January. And he has proof from it. I remind you that his DH 1'38"165 was set on, or pretended to be set on 2018-03-06. So he was already holding the WR for more than a month by then. I have a picture of this DH WR: https://i.imgur.com/V9A9hWY.png On the picture you can see Yacine his youtube, posting a DH time of 1:37.599 on January 30. it is a one second improvement, improving on all 3 laps. But the video didn’t show the run, but only 8 seconds of Metal Mario after finish. I was also told that Yacine doesn’t have a video of the run. And if he played Yoshi Falls he also wouldn’t have the world record ghost anymore. He had planned to show his WR when he would stop playing TT. So I was told. Now how can you believe that a WR without a video of the run would be accepted? When you didn’t even have the ghost anymore? And why would he only record after finish? He was able to record, so why didn’t he record the run itself? Coincidentally he became the MK7 PP champ with the 1'38"165 DH PR on the 6th of March. He came waving in with the picture on the mk7 discord chat and we all congratulated him for it. But he was hoarding the WR already since January. In fact he was already the PP champ. Earlier, on the 2nd of March he said in the same chat that he wanted to improve his DH: https://i.imgur.com/jKm3kmE.png When I look back at these things, I feel like he was fooling us all. Rainbow Road 1'36"393 ,set on 2018-03-02 I wanted to see more proof of his RR time because for as long as I know Yacine, I had the idea that RR was his weak spot. He wasn’t good at the track. On the second of March he says he got 1:36.766, without even taking a picture. Because he wants to improve even further. The same day he shows this picture: https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/166648005095587840/419105161953280000/Screenshot_20180302-131211.png RR is a very hard track, and 1:36.393 is an amazing time. It is 4th worldwide. So when I ask him for this ghost, eventually he also tells me that he doesn’t have it. He has a ‘Castle of Time’ custom track ghost instead of his RR ghost: https://i.imgur.com/YWDjaWf.png But I said the end time is red, that means that the ghost has been saved. So he says he played the custom track after he got the RR PR. You have to know his RR time was set on the 2nd of March, and I asked for the three ghosts on the 9th of March. So he is saying that he TT’d the custom track between those 2 dates. He even gave me a name of a player who he played custom tracks with. I asked that player if he has played CT’s with Yacine in March, and this player denied that. I have been asking around to some players if they know if he has been playing CTs recently. And I looked up in the chats if he has posted anything about playing CTs. I found nothing. It is possible, but I didn’t fully believe him when he says his RR ghost got replaced. So I ask him if he would like to make a photo for me from the same 3DS that he shows on his RR picture proof. He made me this pic: https://i.imgur.com/eRgmxgy.jpg But then I asked to make that photo again from the 3DS showing the time he has on RR now. It would be 1:25.xxx, his Castle of Time time. Or 1:36.393. I said I will not be mad if it shows 1:36.393, just show it to me so I can see what ghost you have there. He never made me that pic. Rosalina's Iceworld 1'53"148 ,set on 2018-03-08 I initially asked RIW because I wondered why he was using his photoflash for making a photo. Now I think he didn’t want to cover something up with it. Because you can still see that the end timer is red, meaning the ghost has been saved, and you can see the splits. He improved on all 3 laps. I thought this was a bit weird, because I automatically thought all 3 of his shortcuts should be better than his previous PR then. But yeah that is possible. The time is 5th worldwide. I asked him for the ghost on the 9th of March, the day after he set the PR. And from the three tracks that I was asking, he said that he only had the ghost from this one. So I asked him to upload a video showing the ghost. https://i.imgur.com/k37tLgD.png On 14-03-2018, he told me he had been mistaken. He didn’t have the ghost after all, because of custom tracks. https://i.imgur.com/Vb8OFEh.png and https://i.imgur.com/ql0BCPR.png So when you think about it, this RIW PR was set on the 8th of March, and I ask him for proof on the 9th of March. The end time on the RIW PR picture is red, meaning the ghost was saved. So he must have decided to time trial exactly that custom track that replaces his 5th WW RIW within 24 hours after achieving it. And I can say even more: The custom track that would replace RIW is Frappe Snowland. And Frappe Snowland is a longer track than RIW. A Frappe Snowland PR always succeeds 2 minutes (around 2:04-2:05), so it is not possible that your RIW ghost gets replaced by a custom track ghost. So about all 3 tracks he told me he doesn’t have any of the ghosts anymore, and his explanation is custom tracks. I personally don’t believe that. I think there are no ghosts replaced by custom tracks, he still has the ghosts, but he just don’t want to show them to me. I add to this that the first post of this thread shows all his proof and when you look at the pictures you will see that also these things are weird when it comes to ghosts: He mostly races against a spotpass ghost and not his own ghost. And there are more than 10 pictures with yellow end times. On 2018-03-19 I gave him a deadline, the 25th of March, and I told him I will freeze his PP status if he wouldn’t answer to me anymore. He suddenly answered again and told me he was leaving on a trip for 10 days so he can’t do it before that deadline. I do have confirmation that he left the day after on that trip. On 2018-03-20 he uploaded a video to meet Diogo’s protocol, it should proof that he didn’t use hacks: https://youtu.be/vWV1y5BkNLw You need to hack your 3DS to play custom tracks. But it could be that he hacked other 3DS’s. https://i.imgur.com/1uYUWNq.png When I watch his protocol video, these are the most important things that I noticed: -Unless he has 2 3DS’s that look identical, I think he plays on the 3DS that was used for most of his recent PR’s. -He time trials PPS and NBC. I already believed his times on those 2 tracks because of the video proof that we already had. -There are no custom tracks replacing his NBC or PPS ghost. What means if he has been playing custom tracks, like he told me, then he didn’t time trial SNES Mario Circuit 3 or Shower Circuit. Two short tracks that would have replaced his NBC and PPS ghost. -There are no spotpass or streetpass ghosts on his 3DS: https://i.imgur.com/wM1Zzqo.png and https://i.imgur.com/d7fSPmM.png He only has his own ghosts and the staff ghosts. I will tell you why: Most of your MK7 data will be stored on your cartridge. But not streetpass and spotpass ghosts, they are stored on the SD-card. So has he tampered with the SD-card before making the protocol video? Or is he not using the SD-card that he normally uses on this 3DS? His 3DS looks free of hacks, but where did his spotpass ghosts go? That is not the problem here. But the conversation raises more questions: -He proposes only to give ghosts were we already have video proof of. -His WR’s on PPS and NBC were also on his cartridge, not on his digital mk7. We saw that in the protocol video. Why doesn’t he mention these to Paradox? -When he says he is scared of data corrupt, he wants to say that he is afraid that he would loose his mk7 data when it goes wrong with the 3DS hacks. But when he says all his other times are on the digital mk7 because he is scared of data corrupt, then how can 10 of his PR’s have yellow end times? Not because of custom tracks, am I right? A MK7 downloaded from the e-shop (or preinstalled) stays on the SD-card. So custom tracks can not be an explanation for those yellow end times then or for the three tracks that I asked him to prove. So my concern is: did Yacine fake some of his times? I can’t say. But I dare to say that he has lied to us and that he is hiding something. In the best case, all his times are true. In the worst case, all his times with picture proof are false. If he does not convince us soon with videos, I would say that we can’t trust him anymore and I suggest to remove him from the PP, and remove all his times with no video proof from the WW top 10s. |

I 100% agree with Frederiek on everything he has posted above. Frederiek and Martijn were the first ones to defend Yacine when there was any kind of suspicion. They have tried everything to move those suspicions away from him, but the bottom line is that Yacine flat out has not proven himself to the community. I sincerely hope that Frederiek's post has a positive effect on Yacine, and I hope that it finally is the incentive for him to prove himself outright. But if it isn't, than the only solution in my eyes is removing Yacine from the PP and from the WW top 10s and from the WR history. |

Of course we can't guarantee that he's been cheating but saying that I still think he could be legit would be lying. I'm obviously both disappointed and disgusted, but on the other hand I'm somehow glad this is happening as it might open some people eyes over the fact that anyone could be cheating, whatever their contribution to the community (or anything) may be. Nobody can be trusted unless they provide strong proof. I think this is really important to remember. Also, I agree with Paradox. There's no reason why Yacine shouldn't be removed from the PP when he did much worse than Toad. I'm sure he demotivated some people, like Weisse maybe, and keeping him would ruin the competitive spirit of this site. Not sure how I should handle his BKSs though... |

I suggest this is what we will do: We freeze his PP status this weekend, and give him a last chance to proof himself. I believe he is on a trip to Italy at the moment, and I think he will be back around the 30th of March. He gets a few days to provide enough proof to convince us, let's say until the 4th of April. On the 5th of April we decide if we will remove him from the PP. |

I told him I think he still has his ghosts and after repeating several times that his RIW can’t be replaced by a custom track, he said he ‘maybe’ still has his RIW. He says he doesn’t care if he loses all his top 10 times that have no video proof. And he says he wants to be removed from the PP. But he wants to keep his WR’s. He also confirmed that he doesn’t have a video of the hoarded DH WR. I told him the deadline of the 4th of April stays, in case he changes his mind. |
