Title: "The sound of MKSC" Post by Chrono Krysster on 02/07/18 at 16:07:41 Vote! Multiple Choice enabled! MKSC and sound-- I am curious about your interaction between the two. I'm playing rMC1 right now, not in shortcut but something else that I'll post tomorrow or friday, and when it's about doing PRs I usually play with the game sound only (kinda obvious), or also with some musics, but also listening to webradios/radios-- and in that case I listen to voices only (interesting topics, debates) and I focus at what they are saying while playing. At some point I need to play with no sound at all. What are your habits? Title: Re: "The sound of MKSC" Post by Shock on 02/07/18 at 17:28:56 If I'm really serious about going for a PR, I'll play with the game sound on, low volume, and ensure that I'm not playing with the charging cable attached. That combo and a certain sitting position is usually the optimal arrangement for me; I might also do better with an AGS-101, but I am so comfortable with the particular feel of my SP by now that changing to my other SP actually feels a little weird. |

Title: Re: "The sound of MKSC" Post by DantheMunchlax782 on 02/07/18 at 19:52:12 I definitely went through a weird phase with MKSC and the different feelings. I started out on GBA then went to Wii U then went back to GBA and finally landed on SP AGS-101 and throughout this I had went from playing as Yoshi to Toad to Luigi to Bowser. |

Title: Re: "The sound of MKSC" Post by Chris on 02/08/18 at 06:05:40 I play mostly with background music, varies from electronic to metal, but it helps to focus, to feel it. I cannot describe it, I just feel like I can do anything with the right music. The only case I never use music is GV1 in SMK PAL, cuz I need the sound of the boost. In MKSC there's no need as there are no real indicators for jumps that require the sound. |

Title: Re: "The sound of MKSC" Post by Glozboy on 02/08/18 at 06:20:08 I always play with the sound off, a hangover from when I played the game on my train to work and didn't want to piss anyone off. I realised recently that I have no idea what most of the track themes sound like ;D |

Title: Re: "The sound of MKSC" Post by Etch on 02/08/18 at 16:05:27 I sometimes like to hear the noise during the shrooms. Otherwise, I have the sound turned off and just listen to the radio or music. Sound is definitely helpful though in GP for timing when the star's effect wears off etc. |

Title: Re: "The sound of MKSC" Post by TvK on 02/08/18 at 16:45:38 I never play with the sound on and I also prefer no background noises when I play. Sound just seems to distract me from playing properly. |

Title: Re: "The sound of MKSC" Post by kyleb30 on 02/09/18 at 15:51:47 I’ve always played karts with the sound on, so I do the same for mksc. I typically have some music or TV on in the baackground as well, but very rarely I’ll play with just the game sound. |

Title: Re: "The sound of MKSC" Post by Andrew Illuzzi on 02/09/18 at 19:40:15 I usually do game music. Other music throws me off a lot, as I do patterns based more on music than anything else :| Weirdly I do usually listen to other music when playing Mario Kart 7. |

Title: Re: "The sound of MKSC" Post by cros107 on 02/11/18 at 18:52:11 Usually I have youtube playing in the background. I admit it distracts me a little sometimes but it's pretty boring without something else in the background. |

Title: Re: "The sound of MKSC" Post by Mr.Nosey on 02/20/18 at 11:59:27 Ideal for me is to have the sound playing, but be watching/listening to something else at the same time on my laptop/tv. That way I can still hear the game sounds, but without being driven crazy by listening to the same 1min of game music on repeat for several days in a row (looking at you MC/SW). Though if I don't have that option, I generally still my headphones in because I think it makes me focus a bit better. But even then, if I feel like listening to my mp3 instead, it doesn't seem to too strongly affect how I play, which is handy. |

Title: Re: "The sound of MKSC" Post by Rusty on 02/21/18 at 09:21:54 Depends. A lot. I prefer to have my own music playing, but life isn't always how you want it to be lol |

Title: Re: "The sound of MKSC" Post by Groggy on 05/19/18 at 16:59:31 I prefer to listen to music or a podcast of some sort, but I still have to be able to hear the game because I take cues from the music. Plus, I end up fucking up the startup boost if I can't hear the countdown for some reason. I have the same problem with MKDS and MK8. Hooray for bumping old threads. |
