(For example: playing RR, fire a shroom too early, and you can tell by the sound hitting the bumper. Or if you fire one perfectly, you hear the typical "fail" sound, but the speed doesn't drop at all. I think it really helped me learn how early I could fire my shroom, which is the single most important thing of high-level RR play.) I think it probably also helps me with shroom spacing, brake tapping, and maybe even gauging when to start steering around a tight turn after a shroom. As for the subject: yes, I've honked the horn before, but not recently. It doesn't really cross my mind to do after finally getting everything right on a course... |

But tbh I've only recently developed that opinion (i.e. when i started again in july), beforehand I didn't care whether i had audio on or not. On top of audio cues for high level play, I also find that it helps me focus more if I can hear the game audio. Otherwise if I have music/twitch/tv on and no game audio, then I'll be almost entirely focused on that, and just relying on muscle memory. Then as a result I fuck up loads more because I'm not really concentrating. ... that all said, I had sound off when I got my rdp1 time yesterday lol |
